Strikers

Morning all, It looks as though we are going to let either Ade or Defoe go or possibly both.

I was wondering what all your thoughts were on who we might be better off getting in for their replacements.

David Villa, a lot of speculation has been made over him signing this window, Brilliant player in his time, had a bad accident broke his tibia and spent 8 months out to recover
31yrs old
5ft 9ins height
Price not known
Current Team Barcelona
International Team Spain
Great striker may give us two seasons if he can stay fit, would sell a lot of shirts.

Roberto Soldado
Very clever striker, can hold the ball up and scores for fun.
28yrs old
5ft 10.5ins
Price £25million plus
Current Team Valencia
International Team Spain
Would be a good addition to our club.

Christian Benteke
Currently in Premier League knows how we all play great advantage
22yrs old
6ft 3ins
Price £25 million plus
Current Team Aston Villa
International Team Belgium
Had a great season last year, young as well would be a Levy favourite.

Personally I would love to see us get David Villa and either one of the other two, cannot decide which one would suit us better, that's to say we have enough in the pot to buy two of them.

What do you think and have you anymore preferences other than those above.

Hi Baz

Remy's release clause is only 6m but yes, if we can do better elsewhere obviously we should.. Lamela looks good but it sounds like he's staying with Roma.

Bony is a weird one, from being linked with Chelsea in January to Swansea.. clearly no-one can decide if he'll do it in the prem.. but if we got Villa he'd be the perfect foil..

Confident we'll bring two in if we sell one though.

Hi BLB, Looks like Stokes interested in Defoe, and the Turkish team have apparently put in a bid for Ade, if they both go, we will definitely need two possibly three, or bring up a youth player and give them a chance.

I wouldn't be opposed to selling both of them because it means we must finally sort out the striker department!

I read in the paper that we would be looking to get Benteke after the season has started - because that way we could get him on the cheap.

Now i know this is (probably) just lazy journalism whereby they know how Levy works by now but as if Aston Villa would allow their best striker to leave AFTER the season has started AND on the cheap.

Villa won't let him go on the cheap. Another season like the last and we'll be looking at 40m. There is no way Villa are going budge.

Chelsea are in now, so spurs might as well forget it.

And second season syndrome would make his value approx £7m - what you bought him for.

First of all, I'm not buying into the Benteke hype yet.

Second point, just because Chelsea are after him it doesn't mean he'll want to go there. I'd imagine Belgium are in the shake-up for qualifying for the World Cup and I'm sure Benteke will be wanting to be playing regular football to ensure he's a part of it
