Murray deserves knighthood

Give it a rest David Cameron you clown.

He can't deserve a knighthood off the back of one two week tournament.

It's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard and it's coming from the man charged with running the country. The mans an utter clown.

For crying out loud lets see what he achieves up until he retires before making such suggestions.

Well done Murray, amazing achievement but knighthood worthy, never in a million years.

What exactly did David Beckham achieve in football? Did he ever win the pinnacle of the sport - The World Cup? Bradley Wiggins was knighted on the back of his Tour de France and gold medals (I thought that was deserved) and Andy has achieved about the same.

Leave the knighthood until he has retired though but it will be merited.

Brian Clough never got one.
He won the top prize in Europe twice; Fergie got his after the one European win.
Equitable, the honours system is not.

And why has the OP stolen my name? (Nearly)

All that was wrong with Ferguson's knighthood was its timing as in perhaps a tad to soon. What he went on to achieve definitely merited it as his achievements and longevity are unheard of in football. A knighthood for Murray should wait until he has retired in my opinion.
