David Villa's quick fire move to athletic Madrid is rumoured to Barca's sacrifice to keep highly talented Thiago at the club. Releasing Villa from the wage bill will free up the space and money for the Catalans to make Thiago a wage offer he can't refuse.
Makes sense when you think about it and yet again it's another dream gone. I never dared believe it would happen but it's becoming very tiring and disappointing year on year how we keep missing out on the significant signing.
Villa ends Thiago move?

It's so not gonna happen is it.
The manager and squad are going to the other ride of the planet tomorrow for three weeks, Sir Alex is on a cruise for ten days. Who we gonna woe him with? Injured Ashley Young? He'd run a mile.
We should get him over tomorrow and tell him the weather is like this eleven months of the year.

How is selling Villa but buying Neymar going to free up any wage?
I'm guessing Villa was on around 100k (if that) a week whereas you can gurantee Neymar will be on 150k plus given his marketablity!

Just got into this thread late, but the pre-season thing means jack all. RVP went pre-season with Arsenal last season, Park was on tour with us before he moved to QPR. A player is due in training no matter what their future holds, they're still contracted to the club.
