Forgot that Jackett had signed this guy for Millwall, a player many advocated as a first team left back for us, regardless of that debate Jackett clearly felt he was good enough to work with and perhaps this has given him an insight into the talent going to waste in our reserves?

The quote i heard/read was from KJ himself on Friday at the live blog interview.
I kind of assume it was just a slip, but apprently Tim Nash also said that same evening that it is noticeable he leaves Doumbia out of conversation?!?
Not sure what to make of it personally, having also heard the attacking midfielder bit since.
Maybe its just a case of clubs being interested in Doumbia so he doesn't discuss him much.
Plenty of different ways to fit those players in, Doumbia could well be at the apex.

A live text blog? I'd say they were probably just copying and pasting stuff he's said since he arrived.
Tim Nash is hardly the most thorough researcher...

I know you probably mean a text blog on the Wolves site. The Nash thing was meant to be a completely separate point.

Cheers Cinci. That is a bit odd then...
Some good answers.
Thought this one was interesting....
Sam Ricketts is coming in as club captain, a position that for a new coach is a vital one in terms of communication between the squad and myself. He can play in any of the defensive positions, he is genuinely two footed and can both defend and bring the ball out of defence. I will use him this season where I think he can best influence the game. There are times when teams will play one player up front where you will need one centre back who can bring the ball out from the back, there are also times when a spare full back can make constructive football and the creation of goals very productive. I will use Sam in any of these roles during the course of the season depending on the challenge ahead of us.

Was an interestngi comment, not quite sure whether i like it or not to be honest, always felt the back line needs to operate as a unit with everyone knowing their job, but to accomodate Ricketts swapping positions would mean re-jigging the defence every now and then wouldn't it?
I guess with regards to Doumbia, IF he is here he will be a starter im sure.

Whether Doumbia is a starter is entirely up to Doumbia. He is good enough to be an automatic choice when he is focused on the job, but it seems he is a pretty temperamental one
