Seems another Rams legend has fallen on hard times:

A former Republic of Ireland defender with money troubles has put his 26 caps and two club medals up for sale.
Dave Langan, 56, who won the League Cup and the Division Two title with Oxford United, said he had already had to sell his house due to financial problems.
Langan, who played 150 times for Derby County in the 70s, and also played for Birmingham City, Peterborough United and Bournemouth said he was devastated.
Langan, who lives in Peterborough, said he might have to move into a caravan.
'Tears and heartache'
The council worker said he and his wife hit financial trouble following cuts to their salaries.
"The financial side is really poor. We couldn't manage with the bills," he told BBC Radio Derby.
It's a great shame for the guy.

That's a brave statement. Can you produce any evidence to back it up, ZZH?

let me ask you this if he wasn't a former derby player would you be so interested?
plenty of people in similar/worse positions

The answer is of course no. Of course people are in worse positions but former players of clubs gave pleasure to fans and it is always sad to see their demise.
I also felt sad about Gary Speed even though he never played for Derby but you could also argue that lots of people commit suicide so why should I be interested.
There are literally thousands of people who have heart attacks every year so why did the media go to town about Muamba. It is just that as soon as you become good enough to play a game that gives you a degree of fame people will be interested in any problems you have.

Hmmm. I thought I posted something of interest to Derby fans about a former Derby player, who was much admired by Derby fans, on a Derby board. So of course it relates to him being an ex-Derby player.
