So just to clarify...

The reporter in the mirror who wrote that match report should be ordered to the press complaints commission because a lot of the stuff that was said in that article was just downright offensive and liable.

and just also like to mention how the football league once again got its priorities right again last night, by not showing extended highlights of The M69 derby, the 12:30 kick off, the game everyone had there eyes on.

I hate the world sometimes, but who cares, Claridge and his possy can go get a stuffed animal and just bath in the emotion that is jealousy.

It's a shocking match report mate. I was gobsmacked yesterday when the Cov manager said they let us off the hook? Was he watching the same game? We were better than them in every department!!

There seems to be a lot of animosity towards us throughout the media.

Don't get wound up by this sort of predictable reporting with references to the money spent, Sven, our "arrogance" etc - it's going to continue all season.

I'd prefer to focus on the positives, that we've won at the Ricoh for the first time, started off with three points in the bag despite having a man less for half an hour, kept a clean sheet and have unearthed an absolute gem in midfield in Fernandes (assuming he continues in the same vein).

We still need to get a prolific striker though, particularly if Andy King is going to be warming the bench for most of the games.

It's shocking reporting, yes, but it's not libel. Libel would be if the journalist accused Sven or the club of committing a criminal offence (or implied that they had). Defamation is the term for an unjustified and unsubstantiated attack on someone's (or something's in the case of a football club) character, but this is nowhere near strong enough to fall foul of those laws.

Biased reporting isn't illegal, and in fact if anything it only shows how rattled we've got some people. Never forget, too, that The Mirror is effectively a socialist mouthpiece and they hate to see any kind of privilege and money being bandied about (unless, of course, it applies to their mates in the Labour Party). We're now the rich boys of the Champo, so we should come to expect this from them over the course of this season.

Finally, I understand why the FLS ran the order they did. Ours may have been one of the matches with the biggest build ups, but for the most part it was a bit of a bore-fest. It was exciting if you're a city fan, but dull for everyone else. There were some far more exciting games played yesterday and I don't blame them for going with those to be honest.

I suspect that the main reason we don't get a prime spot on this programme is I believe that the presenter is a Leicester fan and the commentator is an ex-Leicester player, so they want to avoid any accusations of bias.

The only thing that annoys me about the show is that they provide information before hand, about the games which will have extended highlights - which they then often change on the show.

Fair enough if the editing team wish to wait and see which matches are the most exciting, but don't provide info before hand then.

Also Claridge made me chuckle with one of his comments - he suggested that Sven played members of the squad out of position last season in a 'scatter gun' approach....what on earth are you talking about man.

This Is Madness: A statement does not need to allege criminal activity to be libellous. I can't imagine where you got that idea. More than one successful libel case against UK publications has succeeded where the only accusation made against the plaintiff was, in effect, that she was fat. No law broken there!

That said, I don't think anything in the Sunday Mirror report is actionable – it is merely reprehensible.
