Baz - phone, bright sunshine, spellcheck and perhaps a pint of something cold?

I'm not convinced about the motivation thing: it's just a coincidence that Clough manages to get away victories exclusively at Leeds and Forest, nothing to do with tactics or formations, and we must just get strong refs at those grounds.

Coincidences, why not. The away wins are not exclusively at Leeds and Forest.

You have yet to come up with a better explanation between the difference in home and away form which fits for any team. For example when we played Man U a few seasons back the ref let our players get stuck in to the Man U players and they were lucky leave only 1 nil down. At Old Trafford we were pulled up for a foul for similar tackles and lost heavily.

December 2009, an article bemoaning our lack of intent Away.

Although an interesting theory that tactics do not play a part - I believe they do.
If we lined up with a stronger attacking threat in our away matches we'd have a better chance of scoring, which of course as we all know, leads to the possibility of winning the match. (Providing we don't concede more than we score!)
I remember several years ago, Ruud Gullitt as manager of Chelsea wanted to play with two defenders and was discouraged by Steve Clarke. Now if that's not suicidal tactics, I'm not sure what is?!?!?
In a similar way if we're setting up a defensive approach for seventy plus minutes in an away game and leave twenty mins to attack, away from home against the crowd, how likely is it that you'll come away with a win?
With four/five strikers on our books, who I believe are of a championship calibre we should be playing with two up front away from home with this squad to have a stronger opportunity of winning.
That is down to tactics.
