Cazorla leaving?

According to Radio Marca and Onda Cero, and carried by Marca, Arsenal wideman Santi Cazorla has agreed personal terms on a move to Atletico Madrid but the club are yet to agree a price for his transfer. Marca say that Atletico president Gil Marin is in London to discuss terms on a deal to make the transfer from Arsenal happen.

It all sounds a bit ridiculous. Cazorla has only just arrived at Arsenal in the scheme of things, he's loved by the fans and he seems to be getting on just fine without hankering after a move back to La Liga. Atletico Madrid would be an attractive proposition for most Spanish footballers right now but surely the only reason Cazorla would want to move there is if he's homesick and feels he needs to return to Spain immediately.

He's joked before about settling into England and it always sounded like he was doing it with relative ease, there have been rumours about a return to Spain previously but they just appeared to be speculation.

The rumour started on the same radio show which first aired the Thiago to Bayern Munich news last week, but then a broken clock can be correct twice a day. Arsenal fans will hope it's just speculation or someone being mischievious, if Cazorla really tried to force an exit from the football club then the majority would take it quite badly indeed. This is supposed to be the summer that Arsenal buy top players, not sell them!

Marca say that agreement between Cazorla and Atletico is total and that the two clubs are negotiating a deal to see the player leave the Premier League. Hopefully, for the sanity of Arsenal fans, this can be taken with a pinch of salt.

Yes they can. From the cool £50m they got from Falcao.

Most of that money has gone to a third party .

Yes, we'll see just how wrong you are and what a load of rubbish this is. Cazorla is our best player by a country mile and joined last summer. No chance.
.
Telegraph paraphrasing Cazorla when he signed:
"Santi Cazorla believes he has taken a step forward in his career by leaving La Liga to join Arsenal and that he is more valued as a player in England than in Spain."

Anyway, so even though Arsenal are a spineless club that sells their best players every year, i don't think this report by Marca is very accurate. In fact it's complete bolox.

I'm certainly not in the ForMoyes camp. But what can you do, he's manager now. Just gotta lump it. Role with the punches if you will.

It makes sense though. It's world cup year next year and Santi wants to be at a club that shows ambition and tries to win trophies so he has a chance of making the Spain team.

I wish him all the best.

I would laugh my balls off if this comes out as true! Maybe Santi wants to return home!
