So Watford sign 7 players now from Udinese on a free transfer. They get around FFP by Udinese paying fees and selling players on for free.

I'm sure most fans will now be against Watford doing well. But the question is, is this cheating?
I thought there were clear guidelines around the ownership of two clubs. Whether it's against the law or not, this feels unacceptable to me.
The Watford Situation

the big difference is the players themselves
they have to agree to it and can force a transfer away from both clubs rather than move back
they're not chess pieces or owned products

They will have signing fees.
If the owners want them to go back they just offer the players money. Consider also that agents may not even have much of a say in it either
It stinks

Surely a new simple rule would make this easy.
No players, staff or management can move between two clubs owned by the same person/company.
This would stop it dead.

Mersey, I fear those that have already taken positive action to circumnavigate the intent of the rules would do so again by having a son or brother "own" one of the clubs

Good point Danger. Let's just kick Watford out of te football league. That should sort it.

My initial reaction to your post was a touch of smug self satisfaction that I had made what you considered to be a valid point - Then on reflection I'm thinking you may not be serious

On the bright side, they are uniting other supporters and will be pretty universally hated by all except the Sky pundits.

If we could have 7 or 8 of your boys Kaiser, I reckon we would be good to watch !
Might even make the top six.

Its a complete cheat and is disgusting to see. Although its not officially cheating, its a bit like the Suarez handball incident against Ghana in the world cup - its morally wrong.
I would apply the rule as stated above about switching players between clubs with the same owner and then also apply a rule, where, say a maximum of 2 players of any one club can be sold to the same club, in order to block the loophole of having a "brother" or "son" own the club.
