Shrewsbury Town v Wanderers LIVE

I can still remember taking my 1985 Panini football sticker album to school every day for quite some time. It had about 8 pages dedicated to 2nd Division clubs, with a little fact file for each. You could collect the club badges in silver foil, half size, two club badges per single sticker, split in half. Oxford and Portsmouth was one of the rarest stickers in the collection.

As a result of everyone collecting football stickers in this album, if someone was rubbish at football, they were advised to play for Shrewsbury Town when they were older, because the factfile said they would be playing at Gay Meadow.

That window for sophisticated and intellectual humour has since been closed to future generations of primary school children, as Shrewsbury moved to New Meadow in 2007, and the football sticker album craze is long extinct.

And Wanderers have a friendly at Shrewbury this afternoon, so here is a match thread for it. I think that we can easily top the 20 comments for the Rotherham thread, perhaps 25 or even 30 comments if we really push the boat out.

Goal. What a hit from Parry. He smashes home a full volley from the edge of the area. No chance for Bogdan. (66) 2-3

Fun and games at the end. One fan started yelling abuse at Mears, who decides to give chase. The stewards got rid of said fan, but Mears was so wound up that he carried on and steamed through the exit gate and onto the car park. Craig Davies chased him out and dragged him back in after calming him down a bit.

Crazy days.

From the sounds of how bad we were defending from wide positions Mears probably deserved abit of an ear bashing, still don't really rate him.

Good to see Sordell on the goals and young Lester get a run out.

Only positives with defence is it is the first run out of what is likely to be our first choice 4. They can only get better??!!
