And if he's a one season wonder he'll stay where he is and fit in perfectly...just on higher wages than what he's worth

Vertonghen
Never wanted him...anyone who goes on strike to push through a move is trouble. His actions over the last few weeks just proved it.

So you wouldn't have a young 22yr old who scores goals for fun in the premier league. Ive herd it all now mate, didn't Rooney do the same thing a couple of seasons ago.
I suppose you wouldn't take him either.

If you can't see how much talent he has then i guess you would think that but take for me this isn't a one season wonder and there weren't any luck involved in any of hes goals. this man is and will be a sensation.

I didn't want him based on his methods of securing moves and pay rises. We had more than enough of that with Berbatov and Modric, last thing we need to do is overspend on another mercenary.
If Lerner and Lambert like dropping their trousers then that's their choice...and if it works out then fair enough. Reality is though you may just be storing up trouble for every window from now on.

56k a wk is peanuts for a top notch player wouldn't you agree?....you call that holding a gun to Lamberts head.

I'd be the first to say he looked good last year, and he certainly has talent. However, the real gauge of his ability will be this season, now that everyone has had a chance to look at him and work him out.
If he can evolve his game good on him, and the price tag might look reasonable....if he can't then he may well struggle.

I call handing a transfer request in holding a gun to the clubs head...don't you?

The trouble is hes agent isn't much cop, apparently he was touting him about before the season finished and was pushing him to leave.
If he had any problems with the management or the club its self there's no way benteke would of withdrew he transfer and subscribe to another 4yrs.

As players approach the peak of their careers they tend to move on. Nothing wrong with that. Transfers are fundamental to professional football. Benteke will move on. Bale will move on.
However, they have to get the timing right. Bale is right for not rushing for a move, yet. Benteke staying at Villa is the right thing, at the moment. He got it wrong pushing for a move. It's now right.
If he has the good year predicted, the offers will role in. He doesn't need to push for a move. He'll be able to choose what to do when.

Spurs are desperate for a new striker. The risk Benteke poses is a small one. He is decent player. Benteke would be a good fit. I believe that is why so many spurs fans are so raw.
