Heroes

These are the men who have been selected to put England firmly in their place in their own midden.

I expect nothing short of a large victory for the Scottish team against the overhyped ladyboys from England.

Goalkeepers

Matt Gilks (Blackpool)
David Marshall (Cardiff City)
Allan McGregor (Hull City)

Defenders

Gordon Greer (Brighton and Hove Albion)
Steven Hammell (Motherwell)
Grant Hanley (Blackburn Rovers)
Alan Hutton (Aston Villa)
Russell Martin (Norwich City)
Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic)
Andy Webster (Unattached)
Steven Whittaker (Norwich City)

Midfielders

Charlie Adam (Stoke City)
Barry Bannan (Aston Villa)
George Boyd (Hull City)
Liam Bridcutt (Brighton and Hove Albion)
Chris Burke (Birmingham City)
Scott Brown (Celtic)
Craig Conway (Cardiff City)
Graham Dorrans (West Bromwich Albion)
James Forrest (Celtic)
Gary Mackay-Steven (Dundee United)
James McArthur (Wigan Athletic)
James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion)
Steven Naismith (Everton)
Robert Snodgrass (Norwich City)

Forwards

Leigh Griffiths (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Shaun Maloney (Wigan Athletic)
Kenny Miller (Vancouver Whitecaps)
Jordan Rhodes (Blackburn Rovers)

We're obviously not even taking the match that seriously as we've included Kenny Miller.

It'll be hilarious if we bring on Miller in the last few minutes when we're comfortably ahead. Even funnier if/when he scores against their diddy defenders.

Of course! I am a fool.

There's also a serious case to be made for Watson... we'll he'd be better than Hutton anyway.

The usual Scotland manager blind spots have returned. Miller, Adam, Brown etc. I'm struggling to think of a good game Adam or Brown have ever had for Scotland. Miller hasn't had one in years as he's past it.

Poor choices from WGS.

I'm going to the game but very disappointed with this squad.

db, I think it'll be worse if any of these players start, particularly Adam and Miller. To be frank neither should be anywhere near the bench, let alone the starting XI. Brown does have his uses to be fair although I wouldn't say I was a massive fan.

Not a fan of brown at all. I just don't see what he brings to celtic or Scotland. He works hard but has very limited ability, his basic technique IMO just isn't up to international standard.

For me Dorrans, Morrison, McArthur and even Bannan are more talented players.

I don't see everyone's problem with Miller - yeah he's getting older but he works hard and most importantly, he scores goals.

No idea why Adam is still in the squad, never seen him do anything.

Brown is fine - good player; Mulgrew is good too.

The problem Scotland has (besides playing players who are not good enough to play for England, but qualify for the Scottish team, playing League One/Championship players and just the massive overexpectation on the squad at all times) is the inability to produce truly world class players that can create goals i.e. arjen robben, pirlo, xavi or even the likes of ashley cole, steven gerrard or david beckham who have all been world class in my opinion.

Also where is McFadden?

Yep, Faddy should be in. Is fit again and playing decent footy. Same level as Griffiths has been.

Agree Adam is useless. He's very frustrating as he could be good. Has the ability but his decision making is just atrocious and his fitness is often questionable.

Don't agree about brown though, Cammy. He's not awful but I think we have better players.

I like Mulgrew, takes an excellent free kick which is vital in international football.

Problem is, where would you play Mulgrew? He's far too slow to be a full-back for Scotland, unsure about him in central midfield... maybe as a centre-back because our options are so thin anyway? I think it's his best position and would hardly be ousting a key player.

I've always felt our lack of pace on the international stage hurts us. We've no pace at all in the defence, including CB and full backs and we've not even got great pace in wide attacking areas never mind at centre forward.

Why don't we have any good fast players?

I think this team might do better:

Warner
Rogers
Khawaja
Clarke
Smith
Watson
Haddin
Harris
Lyon
Siddle
Agar
