Nobody seems to know what going on with this release clause and I really don't get it. I've heard a few different things such as:
1. Suarez has to be notified of any offers over $40m.
2. Suarez can talk to clubs who offer over £40m.
3. We have to consider any bid over £40m.
None of these force liverpools hand in anyway as we can just reject all bids if, for example, we don't want to sell at any price so the clause would therefore be meaningless.
But there has to be something in it surely. So can anyone shed any light and at some point can liverpools hand be forced due to this clause?
This release clause...

If that is how it works it is not a release clause. If Liverpool managed to stipulate in his contract that this was indeed a release clause, Suarez and co are gonna feel somewhat mugged off. Smart idea by Liverpool if true though.

Oh, I don't mind good banter - it's the repetitive, uninspired stuff that really grates. It only "winds up" because it's annoying.

Sir Robert Paisley - Brought to you today by the letters R and P and the number 5. (U3823)
Yes your right they should remain private but this rarely seems to happen these days but basically if he did remain private then it would mean brendan rodgers calling suarez into his office to basically tell him arsenal have bidded 40M for him but the club have rejected it seems pointless either way

Weird thing is, historically Liverpool and Arsenal fans have had a good relationship, a mutual respect - I guess with us both suffering as a result of the rise of Chelsea and ManC we can only hit each other. I'm not rising to it.

Unfortunately most Arsenal fans on here aren;t like you HenryCat. Fans like you on the Arsenal board are few and far between. The most vocal are unbelievably annoying and childish which is why animosity has built up between the two clubs's fans over the last couple of years. .

Have you not realised that most people on this forum are what you have described of Arsenal fans?

In all fairness FatJan, the Liverpool fans I see on the Arsenal board do nothing for the image of their fanbase either. I think it's fair to say that the majority of 'more vocal' fans from all clubs are humourless dikheds.

True but I pop onto the Utd, Chelsea and Spurs board every so foten as I like to mix it up and there aren't as many as there are on the Arsenal board. It is nigh on impossoble to have a proper debate or chat on your board without some wum looking for a bite.
The last few days have shown that.

You're probably right, I don't really go elsewhere. I guess I see the 'worst sort' of opposition fans on this board, because many of them come here with just one purpose - and quite possibly in 'retaliation'.
Like I said, I have no problem with decent wumming, it's part of being a football fan, always has been - it's just the ridiculous, overwhelming amount of terrible, repetitive, boring wumming that does my noodle.
