How disappointing were City?

I know they kept the game close, but I'm really struggling to see what positives Mancini is going to take from those 90min.

City were boring, unadventurous, dirty, looked unfit, and were much too defensive. The Community Shield is for trying out new tactics or gelling players into the team, and Mancini didn't try either. It was really summed up when he brought off Balotelli for Barry when the score was 2-2. The whole squad was filled with defensive minded players, and it was just so dull to watch when they had the ball. Also can someone please tell me why Aguero wasn't brought on? He was the one City player that would have benefited most from this kind of game before the Premier League kicks off.

As for our side, It's literally the exact opposite. Our midfield and forwards were brilliant at times, and I was very impressed by Anderson, Cleverley, and Welbeck. Rooney and Nani played very well too. Not to mention we tried out multiple new pairings in midfield and defence, and almost everyone got some time on the pitch. It's amazing that our oldest player on the pitch at one point was Ashley Young, and he only turned 26 a month ago...

The only slight negative is the questions over De Gea's keeping, but he looked fairly solid for the most part, so I'm not too worried about the Dzeko mistake.
