stop moaning !!

I've seen some people moaning on here about how Daniel levy runs our club and how joe lewis isn't putting enough money into the club.

while I understand its frustrating that we have missed out on cl football the last couple of seasons because of us falling short by a couple of points and Chelsea winning the champions league.

it's not easy being a spurs fan but we've got to look at the bigger picture.

1.we've got a good squad who play some good football.

2.avb is showing what a good coach he is and has made us harder to beat and trust me I've seen some shocking performances up north during my time.

3.i love watching us at white hart lane (proper football stadium) and we will be rebuilding it so the capacity will rise and so will matchday revenue which will only benefit us.

4.we've built a state of the art training ground which people from outside the club have visited and have said its magnificent.

5.we've got a great support and lets face it the fact that most other big clubs fans hate us which we should take as a compliment.we've always had a blinding away support and all the older Chelsea fans on here will tell you that.

we haven't got a sugar daddy that can just throw money around like some other clubs and we live within our means.

we've been around since 1882 and lets hope we're around for a good few years to come

Hounslow, what does me are the "pay the extra £7m and get on with it" or "buy player X and give him 120k per week" brigade.

He gets stick for negotiating. OK it doesn't always work in our favour, but he has not only got us top dollar for players we sell, but also seen us getting quality, established international players such as Lloris and VDV for sub-10m.

Every £2/3m saved goes towards another player. Every 10/20k of wages saved is money to be spent elsewhere. He has got us fighting on a par with Arsenal, a club which spends about 50/60m a year more on wages every single year. Above Liverpool now consistently who's turnover is way in excess of ours.

At best we should really be 6th. 5th is punching above our weight, and 4th is well above.

Take out the two who skew it because of external finance - Chelsea and City - and he would have established us as the third best team in the land, pushing the 2nd.

Even Chelsea pre-Roman didn't make CL without getting heavily in debt in doing so, a position that would have rebalanced had Roman not got involved and essentially paid for their pre-Mourinho successes too.

Daniel Levy is one of the best, if not the best chairman out there. He makes mistakes, but then show me a chairman, manager, etc who does not. But he has built the club up brilliantly and run`s it the way all clubs should be, spending wisely, and not overcommitting money the club does not have. I have no problem with him at all. Top man.

Levy is doing a very good job, we would have qualified for the CL at a canter had we not been shafted by muppet referees on a weekly basis. Levy has achieved this in the right way, building season by season.

The 7 or 8 certain penalties we were denied by cowboy referees last season would have made all the difference.

Lets hope our players and Bale in particular are not victimised in the same way this season, and the apparent conspiracy has moved to another club.

Leeds is a prime example mate. Gambled on black and came up red.

I dread to think where we'd be if Sugar was running the gaffe.

Still, he was right on iPods and Dennis Bergkamp never being a success, and revolutionised the telecom market with his fax-phone so what do I know?

ricky villas boas,and breathe

yes we should have got some penalties but bale and defoe both dived at times last season.

What a quality post and set of comments! As an occasional poster I do think that many of the serial posters on both the Spurs board and most of the other PL boards are akin to the loud mothed yobbos that you are sometimes subjected to in your local pub - nothing intelligent or of interest to say but they feel they have to shout it out and subject everyone else to their puerile rantings!

Here's to the moderately silent and errudite football fans everywhere!
