Opening day starting line-up

Tbf to you gooners, to qualify for the cl in every season undr wenger is a tremendous achievement; however, it does astound me how you havent built on this to compete properly for the title.

Every club wants cl to boost the club and coffers, looking at your squad you posted I think wenger must be saving for his retirement or something.

You have obviously some decent players but a distinct lack of world class talent for a team that regularly qualifies for the cl. I suppose wenger trying to solve this with his suarez pursuit.....but its 9yrs to late imo.

We haven't built on the squad because we never had any money to do so. Apparently we do now. So this is the time the squad has to be built on. Surely there are no excuses this time.

I am sure that Wenger will bring in at least a couple of
new players before the start of next season leaving aside the Suarez situation.

For a start he will need to bring into the squad a new Centre Back especially since Vermaelen is likely to
be out injured for 3 months.

There is no likelihood that he will rely on Sagna even
if he looked okay on tour. Miquel is not good enough
to play in EPL.

Looking at the OP 1st X1 I do think that Wenger may
make one material change. Cazorla will play on left
and I would not be surprised to see Oxlade-Chamberlain move at start of season into CAM. He
has looked very good on tour.

I still believe that Wenger needs to bring into the club
a strong, athletic and defensive midfielder. We lack
height and physicality in midfield.
