We were in for him too.

It was talk of a loan wasn't it? No concrete proof we were ever looking to sell him.
I wonder how many of you had written him off at that time? Go on, be honest

The thing is that Harry never tried to sell Bale, you are confusing newspaper articles with reality.I suppose if you're a "Harry Hater" this sort of rubbish is perfect for you.

I dont hate harry at all, I just think it,s funny that he was going to sell Bale to a championship club.

Bale was originally a full back. He used his pace to cover the fact he could defend to save his life. As a full back he might still be a championship player.

@Rosons Mound. As i said,he was not being sold to any club so there's nothing funny about it.

And Harry used to swear blind that he would end up as a full back.

Exactly...
Not just that but the lad appeared to be a curse to the team. Of course with hindsight it sounds crazy to consider selling or loaning out a player like Bale but when you have a player who never finished up on the winning side, i think it would be quite normal to consider selling or loaning, dont you?

Loads of Spurs fans had written him off, after some dodgy games when he was a 17/18yr old kid. Despite his talent.
I remember the mass panic when Benny was going away, and he'd have to play. Durham rubbing his hands together because George Boyd was going to destroy him . Bale rinsed Peterborough that day from LB, absolutely tore them to shreds.
When Harry came in his confidence was shot and he was nowhere near ready for the fight. He had Jol's struggles, major injuries that kept him out for long periods and then Ramos' shambles. A loan would have probably done him the world of good. As it was Peterborough at home, and then a run in an already good side with Niko in front of him did the trick
