I was speaking to an arsenal fan the other day that said he would prefer us to keep bale rather than sell him for £85m or whatever the price and bring in 3 great players.
To be honest I can kind of see where he's coming from, but then I wonder who would come if we had no bale and no champions league.
On all the other boards people are saying it would be ridiculous to reject such a bid and I'm kind of agreeing with it now.
Just to see what my fellow spurs fans think, would you turn down such a massive bid for Bale if you were in Levy's shoes?
£85m or Bale

Laters Chronic, I can see both sides of the debate. If this was a couple of seasons ago I'd agree - the squad was in poor shape but we had the experience and quality in VDV and Modric. Now we've got a young squad that will look to Bale, replacing him is more than just a few worldie goals

Messi wasn't essentially 'for sale' but the bid met his buyout clause so they were unable to turn it down - messi said he wasn't interested and refused to entertain any negotiations

Levy doesn't do buyout clauses.
The premise is simple : on a piece of paper Levy has the selling price of Bale. First Madrid must get there. And then they must show they can pay in terms amenable to Levy.
With 5 weeks of the transfer window remaining, can you see either happening.
If Perez wasn't such a gobby plank-ton and spent some of this mythicall money trying to build an Academy akin to Barcelona, he wouldn't need reams of Galacticos.
