Once again, MK Dons start another season without a new striker- and Lowe has gone. Who is going to score the goals this season.
Not feeling very confident at the moment, but that might be a good thing because this time last season I thought they were certs for the play-off and a good bet for an automatric place.
A week to go and still no new striker

It's good to see you are still keeping this forum going Bill.
I don't think Robbo is getting a new striker and is relying on a number of players getting the goals.
Surprisingly he seems to be persevering with Smith up front (considering his goals & assist ratios), although I think Bamford is going to be the main striker with Izale being third.
Robbo would know best in training, although I still think he still shoots himself in the foot when he talks to the media. For example he is reported as saying
"Patrick’s a class act who we’ve been without all pre-season, Izale came on and got his goals which was nice for him"
I hate to remind the manager but Izale scoring is good for MK Dons and he thinks he is a class act too. Damning with faint praise unfortunately.
I expect Powell, Banton and Bowditch to contribute while Gleeson and Chadwick will add some. I also expect Lewie is score a few, but I doubt the rest of the back line will score much (except Williams will score from the penalty spot).
I would like another young striker or someone with experience willing to be a squad player and to pass their experience on (or a centre half who can score from set pieces), but I suspect that might upset the squad morale. So I think we will stick with what we have got and the only striker whose nose will be out of place, will be McLeod.

I am pretty happy at the moment, I think Bamford will do well, and I am hoping that now that Izale has scored a couple of goals his confidence will be up because when it is he can score goals in this league.
I think we have a good squad, and all the loan signings appear to be decent, we are not as fancied as last year, but who would have predicted Yeovil would have gone up last season.

I don't think Bamford will do any better this season than last, I really can't see why Robbo made him his No.1 signing rather than get a striker who could stay all season.
My big worry was that last preseason, the team were free scoring but when faced with real competition didn't do so well.
My other worry is that there hasn't been a replacement for Lowe, I am hopeful of avoiding the relegaton battle, but I am not sure about promotion this year.

Hopefully the other teams will think that too and will not see us as a threat and be more open. Howver I am still worried that we can be over powered and suspect to the long ball and set pieces.
Since in pervious seasons we have done well agaist lower position teams and not the top ones, while last season we did the opposite; this season we might be promoted or relegated.
I just hope that if Smith does play he will give up he's impression of Judge Dredd, giving out his form of rough justice and concentrate on playing football. That goes for Robbo with the refs and the other red card players as well.
