With the Suarez transfer taking up many peoples energy. I wonder if there is still a fixed plan in place for counselling Luis should we keep him. He will have the next 6 match days free to see a councillor as well as all the free time footballers generally get. If he does stay I hope the fact that he still needs serious counselling/help don't get swept under the carpet like Gazza's drink or Adams gambling problems.

I think this whole episode will make Suarez take a step back and improve himself individually.
I know we said this after the Evra incident, but Suarez did still believe he wasn't in the wrong, but in the biting case, he is most definitely wrong and he knows it.
I think we should see how he reacts (footballs fans as a whole, whether that be for Liverpool or otherwise) if he doesn't show any improvement/gets banned again, then the idea of counselling should then and only then be brung to the table

I think Luis is a lost cause. If his attitude has shown anything this summer it's that his main concern is himself. He has refused to take responsibility for himself and wants to move on to any club that's in the CL so he can an obtain instant gratification of his desire to compete at the top level. Screw the club that backed him we are now holding him back.
I'm sure it was mentioned after the Evra incident that some sort of help would be on offer. I wonder if he took that up at all?
If we keep Luis it will be warts and all.

slightly harsh. Even I know that if I were given my footballing chance by a team like Schalke, but Liverpool came calling, I wouldn't give it a moment thought before wanting to go Liverpool. It's the team I've been wanting to play for my whole life, even when we don't have top 4 etc. Madrid is a more attractive prospect that Liverpool, even before we mention the school boy fan of Suarez.
I won't be bothered in him going to Madrid, but I will if he goes arsenal. But he hasn't even said he wants to go arsenal, so he's still on my good side for the time being

Staying at lfc, if he isnt impressed by coutinho, gerrard and the likes of mignolet, aspas () and sturridge then hes a fool. I think he might just look and think do you jnow what, maybe we can hit top 4.

Just a little look at his demeanour in the friendlies tells you what you need to know. Real are holding back at the moment, but Arsenal have an offer on the table. Luis looks like its a burden to play for Liverpool.
He really is an irksome little twot. Of course there is no way we should let him go to Arsenal but as soon as a decent offer comes in from abroad he should send him on his way. He's a disgrace to the club.

GB. For our Coutinho, Gerrard, Mignolet, Aspas and Sturridge, Madrid can offer Ronaldo, Ozil, Casillas, Benzema and Di Maria.
If you think anyone who isn't a Liverpool fan would take the first set over the second then it's you who is a fool.
With us, he has an outside chance of top 4. At Real, a very strong chance of La Liga and the champions league.
Because honestly, every sane Liverpool fan knows it would take a hell of an effort to overtake Arsenal and Spurs, the chances of us actually doing it are a hell of a lot lower than you seem to think.
And back on topic, I think counselling is unnecessary. He's shown by doing this advert recently that he knows he is no angel. He gets frustrated and lashes out.
If he had a tendency to kick out at people in frustration like a certain portly United striker, no-one would bat an eyelid. I'm not condoning it, but it's certainly not on the level of needing therapy. Maybe anger management would be more the sort of thing he needs.
Tony Adams and Paul Gasgcoine were or are in very real danger of killing themselves with their problems. To compare Luis to that is such an astronomical over-reaction.

I like that post, you can't change Suarez you have to roll with it and that is part of the problem we have here.

Chambers,
You and Suarez won't, by any chance, be seeing the same counsellor will you?

At the end of the day, the club has to decide which is more important.
A striker who will get you upwards of 20 goals, and does win matches, but is also likely to be banned for a chunk of the season and court controversy no end.
Or.
The best part of £50 million, which there is no guaruntee we can really invest, or I hate to say it, will be invested.
When it comes down to it, the PR, the courting Real, the on the field problems, and whatever we all say matters not one bit.
Personally, I'm not bothered if he stays or goes. Id rather he didn't move elsewhere in England, but the fans or the players we are buying or therapy or any other variable won't matter in the slightest. He is what he is. We either keep him and accept what he is, or we take the money. Nothing about Luis Suarez is going to change.
