Why are they bigots? Because their political viewpoint differs from your own?

Some ROI fans on here are basically saying that a players perceived religous and politcal background dictates that they should play for Eire.
You Pogued, refer to,"their politcal viewpoint"and my point is,that should not be part of the sporting agenda.
Several ROI fans here constantly refer to Irish nationalist players............can you not see how this is wrong? If NI fans harped on about loyalist players, how would you feel this argument to be relevant?
ROI fans moan about flags and the anthem at Windsor and completely ignore the Soldier's song and tricolours at Eire games. This is bigotry and hypocrisy Pogued and I could go on all night.
Sport for all means just that. All are welcome to play for and support NI...........how can you disagree with that sentiment?

ROI fans have no problems with the anthem, the Union Jacks or Ulster Banners at NI games, it just isn't for them. What can't you understand about that?
Nobody is telling the Unionist population they should be supporting/playing for the ROI so it isn't bigoted or hypocritical at all. You could go on all night but you'd be wrong because quite simply you aren't comparing like with like.
Do you think if Nationalists started attending NI games and putting up tricolours on the fences they'd be welcomed with open arms?

Like chatting to a brick wall CP. This is the same guy who constantly makes up stuff, rewriting history to his own books to try and get one over on someone.

"Some ROI fans on here are basically saying that a players perceived religous and politcal background dictates that they should play for Eire." - no think your missing the point Bluebell.
If you listen to comments made by the likes of Gibson, Wilson and most recently Mc Clean they have all said that they grew up supporting the ROI side and it is a boyhood dream come through to be able to represent the ROI side.
Now, i know NIreland fans don't like to hear this but this is the way it is

To be honest, the players are switching from NI to ROI because they think they have a better chance of qualifying for a major tournament with ROI. So let them go, no fuss. I'd rather have a team of players committed to the NI cause than a bunch of mercenaries playing for the the chance of a trip to Brazil instead of the shirt. You can bet you're ass if NI were favourites to qualify they'd be going nowhere! ROI is the international equivalent to Man City.

Keep telling yourself that if if makes you feel better Billy Ray. It looks rather like the straw clutching of a man who knows he's lost the argument.

Billy Ray so you believe Irish born players such as Gibson, Wilson etc.. who declare for the ROI team are mercaneries. A team remember who they would have grown up supporting.
So what is your opinion of all the English players who have declared for NIreland recently - Camp, Hodson,Gorman,Mc Quoid, Ward etc...
Do you believe they are playing for your side because of their love for NIreland or because it is a chance to put the fact that they have played International football on their Cvs.
