Bale doesn't want out

http://metro.co.uk/2013/07/29/gareth-bale-doesnt-want-out-of-tottenham-3902653/

If you believe most of what you read in the press he’s distraught, angry, imprisoned, in turmoil etc etc. Stony-faced on his arrival back in England. Nothing to do with the long flight, everything to do with capturing a split second on camera in the way of a photograph which perfectly illustrates his desire to leave Spurs for Real Madrid.

Whatever.

I’m almost done with this. I haven’t written about anything else all summer long. With Tottenham on the brink of announcing Roberto Soldado (a striker, an actual bona fide striker!) we are all still obsessing about much ado about nothing.

Have Real Madrid made a bid for Gareth Bale? No.

Has Gareth Bale asked to leave Spurs by way of a transfer request or going on strike? No.

Is he unhappy at Spurs? No.
Unless everyone has direct access to his inner thoughts. Why do I think he’s happy at Spurs? Because he said so himself, countless times already.

In fact he’s even spoke about next season at Spurs.

Bale is behaving with immaculate professionalism. He’s obviously not going to come out and say one thing or the other in terms of wanting to stay/go. That would strengthen/weaken his position and ours.

The upper hand currently belongs to Levy and Spurs. Until an actual bid (rather than hyperbole and rhetoric) is made by Real Madrid, will Tottenham’s resolve be tested.

A record breaking bid? I doubt Spurs will say no and I’m sure Bale will be happy to go to Madrid this summer rather than the next. I’m not naive. I know he’ll end up going abroad at some point.

He wants that, he’s said as much in the past. Every player wants the best for their career and you can’t stand in the way of that. A record breaking bid will be undeniable to all concerned.

But if no bid is made, then for now, he remains a Spurs player and nothing, absolutely nothing, has been proved otherwise to suggest he’s another Berbatov or Modric.

How ironic that we’ve had a summer’s worth of headlines and rumours and alleged bids, but in among it all not a single confirmation from the ones with the biggest mouth (Madrid, Zidane and Perez) that a bid has been made. You’d think they’d tell everyone about that considering they are privy to every other nuance of information.

Tick tock tick tock, let’s see the colour of your money. Put up or shut up!

What he said

I usually like to stick with Arsenal for 4th, it's the safe bet but assuming you wrap up Soldado as well you are certainly going to make it a fight...

To be fair Gareth has not expressed any desire to leave the club. He has a lifestyle which is unimaginable to us, and whilst a transfer to RM would add a few zero's to his bank account he is already set up for life, and at Spurs he would be the main attraction whereas at RM he could well end up warming the bench for much of the time. His attitude has been professional and respectful to Spurs and I think he will remain with us for at least another season.

The bbc has been going down hill for a number of years, it's not just football but in general, you've all noticed how they like to change a headline numerous times and it's the same article, or some random speculation, backed up with a rehash of the old news that was never actually verified?

total 's the lot of em.

There is a hint of truth to why suarez might be p'd off with his treatment by the press in this country. It's fair enough that he gets his punishment for things that he's done wrong, that's expected and rightly so.

What's not expected is to be constantly harangued with misinformation. This transfer window is a prime example, for a change the press are talking about suarez for reasons that aren't to do with his conduct on the pitch.

It's been a campaign to bully us into selling suarez to arsenal, it's been relentless, right up until bale was the story for the new week.

I don't wish the media on anyone else but I am glad that it's happened to Bale because you've now seen how they behave, these people are trying to destroy teams and players for their own agendas.

Reggie.....this isn't the first time its happened to Spurs...Berbatov, Carrick, Modric. The way its set up its almost impossible for a team to retain its best players and challenge for honours.

We know how they behave, we had it with Modric last season.

I didn't see all the stuff about modric last year, I assumed because he wanted to go the year before that he was going anyway, as for the others, I hadn't been taking much notice.

It's a disgusting way to behave though, it beggars belief that they are actually allowed to keep making up rumours and stories and trying to ruin businesses like this, they like to travel from one story to another, feeding on whatever discomfort they can fabricate.

It's guess work and hearsay with the media regarding transfers until the deal is pretty much done. They use their confidential "sources" to fall back on when reporting stories, the same "sources" that said Redknapp was waiting to secure a top 4 spot with Spurs before accepting the England job, turns out he wasn't even on the FA's shortlist

In the US reporters and journalists have to name their sources or the story won't make it to print, this makes everyone accountable and in my opinion would see a higher standard of Journalism in this country if adopted, which it never will be of course.

As for Bale, there's been absolutely no indication that he is trying to force a move anywhere, he appears to be genuinely happy at Spurs and agitating for a transfer would be totally out of character based on what we've seen and heard from him over the past 6-12 months.

That fat lump of alcoholic lard Brazil on Talksport is salvilating at the thought of Bale going to Madrid. He is more or less saying Spurs are holding him hostage at Spurs. Let him go is his morning rant, you cannot turn that sort of money down. I think his life is dominated by the bottle and the dollar. It is journalism at lower than gutter level.
