Who is your choice for being the Championship Dark Horses for this season?
Who also may be The Standout Player who will go on to bigger things?
I'll kick-off with Derby County and from the same team............Will Hughes.
Don't really know why but i have a feeling that The Rams may surprise. That's them relegated then!
One thing is for sure and that midfielder Will Hughes is a class act in the making. At 18 he is beyond his years technically already. He links up the play from his defenders to his attackers with what seems like ease. One definately to watch.
Who are your choices and give a reason as to why.

CDUBYA......................Hope you're wrong about Marvin Emnes. Only lining up against us on Saturday?
Foxello..........................By "Dark Horse" i mean a team that is not expected to finish in the top 2 but could be fighting above their weight for the play-off places.

I have a feeling Ipswich will have a good season. McCarthy has had time to get things going his way now.

I'd join the group that says Ipswich could do well - certainly better than they did last season. I'd expect them to be challenging for a playoff space. Forest and Bolton look like strong outfits as well, the three relegated clubs could be strong (or could plummet, it's hard to tell), Blackburn and Leeds have some decent players if they pull themselves together and Watford will obviously be challengers as long as they continue to stay one step ahead of the regulations.
But there are a lot of ifs and maybes in there, and there are a lot of teams that I can't see as anything other than average. I suppose if you're looking for a dark horse, Ipswich best fit the bill; however I don't think they'll be anywhere near automatic promotion.

Dark Horse - I'd go for Black Beauty.
Standout Player - Probably that girl who plays Tina on Coronation Street.
Whoops! Sorry wrong forum ...

Dark Horse, possible play offs?
That would have to be Leicester, I mean even their own faithless fans expect them to struggle.
Also I believe Foxello has predicted mid table so going on last year, play offs at least .
Vardy to be the surprise player.

Leicester, the dark horse?
Surely, moneybags Leicester are favourites to "walk it" again this season?
Promotion party at the flat pack?

You beat me to it, TrueBlue. And at £1m, Vardy is already the surprise player.

If Vardy scores more than 5 goals, he will definitely be the surprise player of the year

If Vardy gets 5 starts he'll be the surprise player ( or is that surprised? )

If Leeds do well and now with Bahrain owners, nobody would be surprised, given the size of the club and fan base etc. real dark horses could be derby this season
