SpursBoy

Ranked: 1st

SpursBoy had a decent tournament last time out, yet again not reaching the heady heights of past tournaments and it will have hurt him to go out to Ludy, but the semi-finals is no disgrace. This tournament sees him in another tough group, however I think the ranked number 1 player will take out Hengy and SKA, whilst probably beating one if not both of Junior and Analog. However whilst one day he might perform like he used to, I don’t think it will be this tournament, sort it out SpursBoy.

Analog

Team: Udinese

Odds: 3 – 1

Previous Tournament Performances: N/A

Ranked: N/A

Scheduled to make his debut last time round, Analog unfortunately for him had to pull out missing the opportunity of taking on a hard group. Well it looks like he has got that opportunity again. Now this is a newcomer I do know something about, he has a H2H record on Fifa comparable to: me, Kent and Sideshow and that doesn’t happen by accident so he should be decent, but is he elite decent? Well I reckon he will tackle the group stages and maybe take a scalp in the knock-outs, but I think that will be it. However he does represent the best chance in a while of a newcomer winning the tournament, something which has never happened. Darkhorse.

Hengy

Team: Fiorentina

Odds: 10 – 1

Ranked: 26th

It’s been a long time since Hengy has entered a tournament so it’s nice to see him back again. From his previous appearances Hengy used to suffer in his performances and was dubbed something of a minnow, maybe that has changed? Well it needs to have if he has designs of progressing out of this group and with Fiorentina at his disposal he has the team to do it. Unfortunately for him I can’t see him challenging the big three in this group and will fight it out with SKA to avoid that wooden spoon.

Junior

Team: Palermo

Odds: 4 – 1

Previous tournament performances: Winner, Quarter-final, Semi-final, Quarter-final, Group Stages, Group Stages, Winner

Ranked: 4th

Well here is the current champion who pulled himself round from some pretty shocking tournament performances to record his second tournament success. Yes he progressed from the group via the virtue of one goal and his knock-out opponents put in pretty tame efforts, but he is the champ and that is that. He may find this group stage harder than the entirety of last tournament! Taking points off SKA and Hengy is a must and he sure is capable of beating Analog and Spursboy, however I think Junior will just scrape through as one of the third best finishers. Will be a dangerous opponent in the knock-out round, but I don’t expect him to retain his title.

SKA

Team: Chievo

Odds: 9 – 1

Previous tournament performances: Group-Stages, Group-Stages, Group Stages

Ranked: 23rd

SKA had a pretty torrid tournament last time out, predicted to maybe challenge in the group he was sunk basically from the off. He seems more optimistic this time and whilst we always love an optimist I don’t think the circumstances are much different from last tournament so I expect a struggle, he hasn’t shown anything in these tournaments to make me believe he can get out of this group. So to get out of this group he will need another ‘Miracle of Molde’ (Tournament veterans only will get this reference)
