If dosh splashed out equates to league position then we are currently bottom half. However, we all know it don't work like that, QPR etc will testify to that.
So, the questions are.
What is WBA's realistic target for this coming season?
Will we all feel depressed if we finish in a postion lower than the year before for the 1st time in about 5 years?
Is 7th achievable given the gulf that was between ourselves and Liverpool last year or is the prem irreversably split into 2 camps?
Could it be possible for a club that operates like ours to break into the top 6? Can it be done?
....or are we doomed?
Wot's it all about?

If you guys stick with Steve Clark I wouldnt be surprised if you get in the CL eventually. Next year I think 6th is acieveable problem is even teams like Norwich are spending a chuck of money

Get to 40 points asap and then reevaluate our targets.
I'd be happy with top half again personally.
I'd actually take anywhere above 15th if we were guaranteed a cup run. I really want a cup run

I'm with JH on the Cup, however, the problem with Cup runs is most clubs, ours included, won't risk key players in the early stages.
If, by chance, you manage, with the luck of the draw, to get to the latter stages then your league position is clearer making Cup selections far easier.

Absolutely agree about the cup run. It's been far too long now.
Top 8 would again would be great. Even top 10 given most of the league will outspend us.
Don't think anyone outside the Sky 6 are immune from relegation. Blackburn/Bolton/Charlton were all supposedly 'established' clubs before hitting one disastrous season. It only takes a bad managerial appointment, a spate load of injuries or whatever.
However with 3/4 quality signings, say maybe Kalou, Sinclair and a couple of others, I could find 9/10 teams that we are better than.

Tidy, I don't fancy Sunderland either with PDC's hand-grenade management style.
