We should remind ourselves that we could quite easily be facing a trip to Notts County rather than Nottingham Forest tomorrow..if the season had ended at 75 minutes last May. Thankfully we have another host of tasty fixtures lined up over the next 9 months.
My hope for the season is that we perform at a consistent level, that is a consistently good level.. Last season we were erratic to say the least, with good, bad and indifferent performances.
Dean Hoyle has thrown down the gauntlet though to the persistent under achievers...Hammil, Gobern, Scannell and Ward...in a brave but perceptive statement Hoyle has basically told these 4, it's time to man up and deliver.
He might have added Norwood to that list, but his youth perhaps saved him from a public rebuke.
This season will be a wake up call for any players who aren't cutting the mustard as Town try to establish themselves as a bona fide Championship club. We can't carry passengers any more, the learning curve that was last season has passed..players should have learned and if not then obviously Deano will be yielding the axe.
The days have 'having potential' now need to progress to 'delivering' that potential..otherwise these players will find themselves spending the rest of their careers in Leagues One and Two...
Let us hope the under achievers heed the words of the Chairman ...
And so it begins..........

Ha ha Champers, looks that way doesn't it, that's when the test match starts, our big players are due, the reality of England retaining the ashes will hit the aussies at teatime tomorrow.... I hope!

Remember last season, Cardiff away, played really well & almost got a point, Town to draw tomorrow.

It's worth remembering . This is the same defence that let in 6 sloppy goals at forest 6 months ago !!! I only wish robbing could remember . No new defenders means more hammerings at placeses likes Forrest and Leicester , Watford and Brighton , and now we can add qpr Wigan and reading .

We had 5 bad games defense wise last season, when we conceded 24 goals...in the other 41 games I think you'll see our defensive record compares favourably with any other team in the Championship..(49 goals in 41 games...)
We've got a bit fixated with our goals against (73) and hence our entire defense, or at least the CB's...but remember, Palace went up and conceded 62 goals...
Maybe we should look at our goals scored column too, only two clubs had a worse record for scoring goals..
just an observation...

Indeed Lou.
We needed to go in without loss to do right, but hard wickets & Aussies go hand in hand...
In 27 years I've never seen our lads win a test here at the WACA...quite probably the hardest wicket in the world
And Old Trafford is without doubt the hardest of the wickets that will be played on of the 5 venues..
So yeah, it's looking like we'll have to take this game on the chin at this stage....
Blame Champers....
.sat there like a nail getting 'peaced' & wetting his pants instead of cheering the lads on..
yeah.
it'll be his fault.
