What do you guys make of him? Could he just be the player to solve this CB issue that Liverpool seem to have at the moment should Skrtel and Coates both leave the door?

He has spent a large part of the season out with injury and has only just returned now in Pre-Season but over these last 2 years of Football, he has looked incredibly strong and he looks to be a real bright talent for the future.

But would he move from Schalke who have CL Football to Liverpool? Sources believe that he is only on around 9k a week which I find quite hard to believe with a player of his talent, but may well be true, who knows.

The money could have been used elsewhere. Like the priority of signing a strong CB first because Diego Costa's transfer and wages won't be cheap. For me, the money could have been used to get the strong CB that you need to help your squad a little bit more.

But then again, neither will this guy. His reported 9k a week, again, doesn't sound right for a CL Football Starting CB at Schalke really. I was predicting around 30k he'd be on. Wouldn't be sure on a price tag, but you'd be looking in the region of £15M - £20M if you were to sign him.
