Why not.

I would think the charges hanging over his head would be a bit of a put off tbh. Plus the fact he turned you down in Jan for more money at a club who were almost already down then. Rather than moving to a bigger club like Newcastle who had gained European football the season before.
You can do better than him.

It's only loan for a year then option to buy, if he's charged we can cut loan so its no lose for us. I know he turned us down but with the jokers at the top of our club atm I don't trust them to bring any sort of quality in.

Fair enough Andy. I just think with the financial problems clubs are facing in spain, you could pick up an excellent striker for not much.
I thought Bony would have been an excellent acquisition for you too. Swansea picked up a gem there.

Oh and I really think you guys should bring in Siem De Jong, he would be fantastic for you and would take the pressure off Ben Arfa, plus he gives you the creativity you need when Ben Arfa inevitably gets injured.

We were after him back in Jan but he's said he'll give it another year at Ajax. Definitely a player we've looked at though!

Should definitely move for him. I think he is in the last year of his contract but I may be wrong. Either way if you could add him, Gomis, another striker and a centre half you would be in good shape. So long as you kept hold of Cabaye anyway.
Surely Cabaye will be the skipper this year?

Yanga-Mbiwa will be good enough at cb should he adapt properly. Saw a lot of him in France and could potentially be a v classy player, as for Cabaye as captain I don't think he did a great job last year. Colo although left us in the lurch last year a bit there wasn't much we could do about his back injury. When he played we looked much more assured, he has a calming influence on the rest that is irreplaceable with the current squad. Cabaye gets too obsessed with arguing.

Yanga-Mbiwa I like a lot. However Should Colo get injured you are left with Taylor. Whilst I like the passion and never say die attitude that Taylor has, Im not sure his positional sense is good enough. I think another centre half would be a wise move.
Fair enough on Cabaye. I just think that he is the midfield general and whilst he may have not had his best season for you, at least he didn't try to move. I know Colo had other things going on, but your captain should be 100% committed to the club. Colo wasn't.

No I agree with what you're saying, especially about Taylor! His chest pumping and throwing himself in front of things gets him a lot of leeway with the fans but he's not a great player. I think if there was a clear alternative to Colo he wouldn't be captain anymore but as said it seemed to detract from Cabaye's game whereas with Colo it improved him if anything.
