A view from Spain

I thought it may interest City fans to get a view from Malaga. I was out with two friends of mine last night both Malaga season ticket holders and very knowledgeable about Spanish football.
They both think Pellegrini is a fantastic manager , one has bet on City winning the premier league but think more likely that City will do well (and even win they think) the Champions League.
They said there was't a full back in Spain who could handle Jesus Navas last season and he will be piling in the crosses for City. They said Negredo is good but does miss a lot of chances. Pellegrini tried to sign both Negredo and Navas when he was at Malaga.
All in all very positive for City.

My thoughts on our games in the Audi Cup were that it was a real tournament not a pre season kick around. Boyata showed that he can now be a good back up at centre back, so the need to buy to cover Nasti's injury is fading fast.
Bayern were almost at full strength, we weren't and to compete like we did augers very well for the new season

Ty Siempre. I was pretty amazed last season watching Malaga vs Dortmund in the CL quarter. Dortmund were a formidable side, yet Malga really unsettled them and in the end were very very unlucky. City have a very strong squad even before this seasons additions. So you would think we should do well both domestically and in Europe.

So Siempre, having given such a straight view of us - where do you think it stands with United? My own honest view - avoiding any wumming - is that Moyes has a good track record of getting the best out of the resources he has. However, my impression is that Ferguson's departure was unexpected, and that the succession is not being managed well. I don't think Moyes is being given the platform for success that he should be given as successor to Ferguson. United to me look a bit like City did this time last year - champions but with something no quite right in the preparation for the defence.

Siempre should be marching on the Gibraltar border to defend the honour of the Queen and St George.

i think United will be ok this season as it is essentially the same team that walked the league with maybe one or two additions. The opposition will all be better though. I dont think the Moyes factor will come into play for a couple of seasons, lets see if he can keep the hunger like Fergie die.

As for Gib, outrageous but as I say to my Spanish colleagues they should worry about getting Puerto Banus back before thinking about Gibraltar.

I was wearing a Tevez mask Scooby doo style and I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids.
