Unofficially West Ham put a bid in 3 days ago for Nicky Maynard offering 2mil (laughable) apparently Bristol City told them to double that offer with add ons today. The Sun Newspaper reports that West Ham have revised there offer for £4 mil plus add ons. So does this mean if it is true that our chairman Lied to us fans and will sell to another championship side for less than what Leicester had offered on there last offer of 5.7mil because if that’s the case we better of got another striker in who’s equal if not even better & as proven as Maynard or our season just got much worse. Personally I can't see this happening unless the add ons are spectacular but can't for the life of me think what add ons we would accept that could warrant such a move. Nicky does not look happy though at the moment he looked like he didn’t want to play pre season against WestBrom & Saturday he looked even more distant. I wish the club would be a bit more upfront with us fans & let us know what on earth is going on as it’s our money we keep throwing at the club every season. I love supporting Bristol City they have been my team all my life but money has changed football from the greatest game into the biggest business venture & I for one want to see talented hungry footballers again playing for the love of the game and not how much money they can get out of it & retire at the age 30...

Most of what we have heard this summer has been pure speculation.
All we know is that City turned down 3 bids from Leicester, the last 2 on July 6th. I am not sure if the last figure mentioned £4.75million including add-ons didn't come from an E/Post report and we know how reliable that is.Talk was that it was 3 to 3.5 million upfront.
Subsequent rumours of bigger bids including Waghorn were just that rumours with no substance.
Sextone made a statement that no bid came near to our valuation and that seems to have deterred further bids.
These rumoured West Ham bids are no doubt just that and the club can not comment on every rumour. So as far as I know no-one knows what value we place on him and it does not matter unless a reasonable bid comes in.
West Ham may be mischief making by leaking info re potential wages for Nicky to the press to unsettle him without making any bid. If a bid was to come in from them I would expect Jordan Spence to maybe come into the equation but that is just me speculating.
Personally I think our board have priced Nicky way above what anyone is willing to pay and that is what is probably getting to Nicky, 5 weeks and no more bids.
Maybe we have now called Nickys bluff and he will have to ask for a transfer to get away. The board then have the justification for selling him without too much flak although I fear the figure will be well below what many expect, unless we get a Premier league club that is absolutely desperate.

NO NO NO we should not sell for anything less than 7.5m and NOT to another championship side....it makes no sense.
Our problems at the moment is our manager.......
We sell our best players and keep the manager we have....we are doomed....

I personaly think unless he is our top goal scorer by January transfer hardly any clubs will come in for him let alone a prem club. The other thing i forgot to mention was according to the Sun newspaper West Ham will also offer Nicky Maynard 25k per week to sign...

Looks like Reading who are in a similar position to us (top scorer with 1 year left on contract) are about to sell Long to WBA for £6 million despite Leicester having apparently offered £7.5 million.
Like us they said that they would not sell to a rival club.
