our next four games in the championship should give us a fair indication of where we stand, Blackburn, Bolton, Watford and Wigan, is a pretty tough run of fixtures, especially with only one being at home.
If we come through these 4 in good shape, then I seriously believe we have a solid chance of a top six finish. If we perform badly, it will indicate there is still more work for Billy to do, but I also have the utmost faith that Billy is the man to do it. The indicator for me would be to score more than we concede in these four matches, though tbh I'd happily settle for 3 away draws and a home win.
next 4 games ..

I don't think it matters too much. In this league how you finish matters most. It'll give us an idea of where we are now. But where we are at the end of a long season matters most. And being average at the start of the season doesn't mean you won't end near the top

i am sure that most fans would be happy with a top six finish, even with the recent signings, because the relegated clubs look strong in their squads. in our favour possibly is our strong work ethic and togetherness but i would have thought that a top two finish is beyond us unless in january we are thereabouts
and billy uses the january window wisely

Every games important if you want promotion. Wasn't we two points off last season?
Also how can playing possibly four of the (on paper) top teams in the league be an indication of where were at?

Cardiff had a really great start, and then withered a bit towards the end, but they'd built up such a valuable lead that they couldn't be caught. Every point is important, like you said.

^ Also, Charlton finished just below us, and but for a poor start might well have been in the top 6.
Or thinking about it, Bolton prove that every point is vital, and their fantastic run of form at the end of the season meant absolutely nothing, all thanks to a crappy start.
