Jonny Evans.

He made one excellent marauding run. But that was after he gave the ball away in a dangerous position and won it back. At the end of that run, he ran out of ideas, held on to it for too long, and ended it by giving the ball away. So to mistakes sandwiched a good run. He also made at least one other error at the back, where we could have been punished by a better team than City, or even City themselves when they get into the swing of things as the season gets going.
Phil Jones impressed me though. Did the simple things well, good distribution, and looked solid and strong. I thought he looked the better of the two CD that came on in the second half. I would even put money on it that he will be more of a regular than Evans this season.

He won a few key headers and was very solid, hopefully last year was just a blip.

Evans was good yesterday. Not brilliant, but good. I've never slated him, or said he was rubbish. He's a good defender that is a solid enough back up, but prone to the odd mistake. I don't know if he'll ever be a first team regular for us in the future, but I don't wish him to fail.
He's not known for his marauding runs, and doubt he ever will. He reminds me of when O'Shea started with us.
