I see in the media that Luis may eventually submit a formal transfer request to Liverpool, and it has been described in such a way to imply this has some big significance to the situation. In my (uneducated) opinion, I think this is quite the opposite.
If suarez hands in a transfer request, all he would be doing is A) formally letting us know he wants to leave (which we already know), and B) presumably forfeiting various loyalty bonuses etc.
We are under no elevated obligation to sell, whatever he says, so I really can't see anything other than benefit from him handing in a transfer request, because short or long term, it would save us a bit of money. I cant see how he could receive loyalty payments even next year if he hands in a transfer request at any point during his contract.
Furthermore, I think that this issue of the loyalty bonus should be tightened up. If a player (such as suarez) goes to the press to say how much he wants to leave, or speaks of his desire to play for another club ("at some point" - yawn), then they should automatically forfeit this bonus too. Obviously it would need to be refined, but that kind of condition within a contract would hopefully reduce all these horrible media campaigns.
Agents etc could still do all the legwork, but there would be none of these media interviews directly from the player flirting with other clubs. and yes before people say it, I know it wouldn't make much difference ultimately, and it would be hard to apply, but confidentiality agreements etc are used all the time in the workplace, which effectively govern what you can and cant say. The net result may be the same, i.e. player still leaves a club, but it would be a lot less annoying and reduce this media driven approach of washing all the dirty linen in public.

the Lady Eowyn, I bought a kettle today, I must say the transaction was incredibly smooth, there were a few things that made this happen, you can pass this info along to Arsene and Stan, I'm sure they'd find it useful.
1. Always make sure that wherever you're making a purchase actually has the item for sale, this is crucial, as far as deal breakers go, this is the big one!!
2. Always, Always, Always check the price, you wouldn't want to get to the checkout and find out you've only got £40m +£1 when you really needed £55m
3. Always try and read any user manuals, especially keep an eye on the small print, you really wouldn't want to get tripped up thinking your had a right to something when you don't
4. If the seller hasn't got what you want or doesn't want to sell, move on, not much time left, the shops close in September.
5. Remember, the customer is always right, unless of course the seller says otherwise.

Unfortunately football is a business and Fenway will base their decision on the numbers – nothing else.
To FSG Suarez is an asset and given the player's position is now untenable they will be looking to move him on solely on a commercial basis.
This will never become public as the club need to maintain their stance on the player and I expect LFC to publically take the hard line however privately they will be looking for the highest bidder.

Are you lot mental? We're not selling Suarez to arsenal or anyone, JWH quote:
"I don't know why people ask us if we are selling the club or the best players, because we are not. We like to buy stuff, not to sell. We are not selling our best player."
Pretty clear from the man who holds the purse strings.

everything impacts numbers. happy supporters buy more merchandise. getting back in the CL one year sooner = £35+mil and the potential to attract better players. which means more success and more money.
which makes me think, if they were concerned only with money and nothing else, then they wouldn't sell to Arsenal. It doesn't make financial sense.

I refer you to my last post. Suarez will 100% be leaving Anfield.
Given his past indiscretions the (and in light of his interview) the club have had enough of him.

At present Arsenal are the only club who have the cash to buy him and are interested.
Even if Madrid came on board (Bale makes that very unlikely) they do not have the money to pay the fee. It would be in installments which is of no use to LFC.

then, we just don't sell him this window
that's the right financial move

Yes there is that option to Liverpool but what do they do until January?
Do they risk a Tevez scenario whereby Suarez refuses to play and goes AWOL. From a sporting perspective they will need to consider how the dispute will affect the squad (players are said to be appalled by his actions – and who can blame them).
Liverpool could be faced with a situation that due to the transfer window being closed can do nothing to resolve August to January is a long time.
If LFC do wait until January before selling, the player’s value will hardly increase. Do they then wait until the summer and so on??
History suggests that LFC will move him on as soon as possible and for as much as they can get for him.
