How big a loss would Rooney be?

He has been a great player since signing and has helped Utd to a lot of success. Considered by many pro players and managers as one of the best footballers on the planet, in the last 8 years or so. Can Utd really afford to lose him? Rvp was brought in to take the pressure of Rooney but if he does go, wouldn't there be the same pressure on van persie to not get injured and continue to score goals?

If he does leave, would Utd be able to bring in a suitable replacement? There is talk about Bale and Ronaldo but how realistic is that? Under no circumstance should he be sold to an English club. Just imagine Rvp and Kagawa both pick up injuries in the first few games. It isn't really that difficult. Next season the front 3 should be

----Kagawa---
Rooney---Rvp

The only way I'd grudgingly accept Rooney going to Chelsea is to get one of their better players in part exchange. And it would have to be a player who regularly gets in Chelsea's starting eleven in the big games.

If they give us Ramires and £5m to £10m I'd take it if Rooney is truly dead set on leaving. Ramires is a player i rate very highly and he would improve the worst area of our team...centre midfield. He's versatile as well and is PL proven so no settling in period or worry that he's a Brazilian that wouldn't settle.

All you people deserve better than a player who wants to walk out on our great club just so he can join Chelsea

I have always believed Michu would be a very good replacement for Rooney.
He plays more or less in a similar position as Rooney. He can play number 9 as well as number 10 as evident last season equally well.
Plus he is a good goalscorer. He scored 16 goals from midfield 2 years ago and 20 goals last season at a midtable team like Swansea. With superior players he may even score more. Plus he is very skillful and composed in front of goal.
If we buy Michu our options will look like this
No. 9 - RVP, Michu, Hernandez,
No.10 - Kagawa, Michu
With Welbeck filling in the gaps when required.

Some of our worst games came, last season, when Rooney wasn't on the pitch.

I'm not 100% convinced that Kagawa and RVP is a great partnership, through the middle. It should be, but i've seen little evidence of it.

Kagawa and Rooney actually seemed to have a better understanding.

Rooney would be a massive loss to any club.
The boys talented. Can be the difference.
A Clutch Player.
Doesnt mean UTD would crumble. far from it.UTD as always would move on... But make no mistake, he walks into another team, and their stock would rise.
