Do we have the most inept owner of our club (or majority Shareholder). I mean look at J Henry's comments today, basically telling us to f off all over the shop...
This is a guy that has apparently a good relationship with Stan..... Henry has belived to have said....
I have not said it to Stan [Kroenke, Arsenal's majority shareholder] but I had a personal conversation with others at Arsenal and told him [Gazidis] we would not sell to Arsenal." with Stan,
why cant Stan pick up the phone and speak to him... is he that useless... You gota admire Henry putting his neck out defending his club... compare that to our spineless lot who let our best players go every season...

But it's not looking likely that you'll bring in the required players for the first team as well as the squad to challenge for the title.
I am still confident but let's wait and see till September 2nd.
Chelsea are in a much better position to win the title. They've got a better squad of players and a better manager.
Agree on the first 2 points at this point in time. I think we still have the better manager.
Arsenal, unless they go on a silly spending spree akin to Madrid, don't really have enough to finish above United, City and Chelsea.
I think we still could.
What's more likely is that they'll end up battling Spurs for 4th again, irrespective of keeping players because they've not brought in sufficient quality to increase the gap with Spurs and don't look like doing it.
If we dont spend big and get enough players in. Probably another battle for fourth but we still finish above them.

Is Wenger the new Britney Spears?
*sang "oops, I did it again" one too many times
*got old and irrelevant
*increasingly unattractive
*married a no-hoper white rapper (OK, possibly not true)
The resemblance is uncanny

Fair enough, RGK, but I think you are showing blind faith that Arsenal can spend enough to win the title. That and I don't think you realise how far away you are.
I think Mourinho has overtaken Wenger as a manager. Wenger ten years ago you may have a point but in that time Mourinho has shown us who is the boss.
Plus it's not all just about spending. It's about the team gelling as well. All of the top 3 have a settled core of players that have the quality, and know how in ours and City's case, to win the title.
I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

I don't know FatJan but I don't expect us to sign nobody so just wait and see. Darren I don't think we will win the title but I mean be in the race until at least Feb/March, do better in big games and not be in a dog fight for 4th.

Maybe but I am still confident we will spend big.

Wenger has been restricted financially these past 8 years but let's see in the coming seasons. Mourinho has never shown the ability to be at a club for a long time. After 2-3 years the magic wears off.

If Wenger gets the right players than I think they can gel and adapt quickly.

Only if we spend big otherwise I have no expectations.

Fair enough. You said challenge for the title. To me that suggests being able to win it because if you aren't realistically going to win it then it's not really a title challenge.
And for that it would take a lot and I cannot see Arsenal doing it. I'm sure Arsenal will make signings to improve the team, though, but by how much I am not sure.
Spurs are looking in very good shape, so battling them for 4th does appear to be on the horizon again. But I do expect Arsenal to stay in the top 4 again, because of Wenger.

I think your expectations of all the spending is part of the disappointment you've set yourself for.
I know Wenger has had financial problems but Jose is the man now Fergie has gone. Jose's magic may wear off after 3 years, but there's nothing to quantify it as he's never stayed long enough. Wenger's magic has clearly worn off compared to his earlier years irrespective of financial clout.
He's still a top manager but I really cannot see an argument for him being better than Jose. Different types of managers, though. Wenger has done well keeping Arsenal where they should be consistently. Mourinho has won everything there is to win.

If we dont spend big by the end of the transfer window than of course I will be disappointed and will for the first time question if Wenger is right man for us and maybe want a change. I will get over it quick though.

I still think Wenger still has it but hasn't been able to prove it because of financial constraints. Football has changed since 2005 all the other clubs have caught up with the scouting so harder to sign gems.

Pep has won everything although at one club and one of the best teams ever seen and I think Wenger is better than him. Time will tell on Wenger.

I think the scouting thing is a good point, that was part of Wenger's magic, and he appears to have lost it. Always seemed to get unknown players for good prices and get them playing brilliant football but he's not been doing it the last few years and I don't think that has anything to do with money.
While what you say is true about Pep, he's not achieved anything close to Mourinho. This is a man that has won the league and cup in 4 different countries and won the champions league/treble twice. That is some feat.
And I know it's easy to use the money excuse, but money doesn't guarantee anything and not many, if any, could do what he has done. It's very special.
