How on earth did the fa decide to overturn calderons red card from his leg breaking challenge in the league cup but uphold austins red card?!
Im not saying calderons tackle was malicious, but he was late and broke the guys leg! Austin bumped shoulders with barnes and gets a 3 game ban. Ridiculous.

It all comes under the fact that Austin's decision was fully seen by the referee, and it was of the referees opinion that is used excessive force and was therefore deemed Serious Foul Play. The Laws of the Game states many times, "If in the opinion of the referee...." and that meant that if the referee had fully seen it then the FA were powerless. They've added a rule in now that allows them to do more for this season.

Austin's was off the ball, although it wasn't that bad! I got booked for doing the exact! same thing last week during a 6 aside game.
Calderon deservedly got sent off tho but he did go for the ball despite missing it.

'Going for the ball' is the same as intent, and despite popular belief, intent isn't mentioned in the laws. The only requirement for a tackle to be deemed SFP is that it uses excessive force. If it's reckless then it's a caution and if it's careless then it's just a foul.
