There's a lot of talk in the newspapers today about United going for Bale.
I just wanna start off by saying I very much doubt these stories even though the main story was in the Independent which is one of the more reliable papers.
The question i'm asking in this article is would United supporters be happy if we miraculously paid £85 million for Bale this transfer window?
It is a lot of money and in many people's minds too much but on the other hand you get a proven PL winger (plus someone who can play centrally too) and one who would no doubt improve us immeasurably.
The club do have the money and if the Glazers miraculously sanctioned it would you as fans feel embarrassed that we paid so much or proud that we can afford to splash out once in a while with money that we earned rather than were given.
Just to clarify, i'm not saying these Bale stories have an ounce of truth to them. More that I want to know whether United supporters would look the other way regarding the cost and just be happy we signed a world class player who would be as close to a guaranteed success as they come.
(Plus we get Fellaini too)
Would you take Bale for £85 million?

There is nothing naive about thinking that a lot of players are not solely motivated by money.

that is one point we will never agree on in that case.
I believe money comes first before all other things are considered for 99.99999% of players. I might just be too cynical in my views.

If you can understand the price for Bale, then the price of Moura should be something you also understand.

Not really... Bale is a proven PL player, on the back of an outstanding season.
Moura had never played a single minute of club football on European soil and was a huge gamble, for the figure being bandied about.

And how much European experience did Neymar have before Barca shelled out 55million big ones?

RVP and Berbatov both turned down city and more money to play for utd.

What do you think our accounting network in brazil is for? Anybody who had seen much if him prior (Olympics aside) knew he'd be a success whenever he went.
I don't think we should have bowed to the fact PSG offered more, but that doesn't excuse ignorance towards a players ability just because you oersinay haven't seen him play.

RVP didn't, that's a myth. Wenger himself said he didn't turn down more money.

You are twisting the arguement.
I'm saying he was not worth throwing crazy money at because he has no experience in Europe... Not because he was shít or didn't have potential.
I don't care if you are the best scout in Brazil, no one, but no one can say that an 18 year old player will 100% definitely be a top player in Europe.
Calling me ignorant doesn't make your argument any cleverer.

I wouldn`t worry too much about the Bale fee, there is more chance of Martians landing, than Levy letting Bale anywhere near Old Trafford, except to score goals like last season.

I wouldn't take Bale for half of that to be frank.
