More quality in.....have faith.

BR was quoted as saying,

'Im confident we will add to the team,' added Rodgers. 'I don't think there is any doubt that we need that. The players that we've brought in have added great depth and support to the team, but I think for us now, that little bit of quality could really set us up for an exciting season.'Everyone at the club, the recruitment team, the board and ourselves, we are all working hard to make that happen, and hopefully we can.'

"There's a lot of work going on behind the scenes, obviously it's not easy"
----------------

I think its obvious that there is room for a few signings, and I think going by the above they are going to be cracking buys. With fsg Henry saying that THIS season they expect a top 4 challenge, well we know we have £20M odd going by the mkhi stories and we know the quality we are after.

I think personally that the next 2 or 3 buys may make us an incredibly strong squad. I don't know who it is but I am confident that the players in will be top players.

Utter utter delusion to think we are anywhere near spurs at the moment

Cmon lads your smarter than that .... Fsg have trimmed the fat thus window (so far) and we need 3+4 more good signings to compete for a European football

I will be super annoyed if we lumber home in 7th or 8th ...buck has got to start delivering this season in the premiership

I think they are working hard to get eriksen and alderwield, and if they get those will have a good young squad. I think BR will want to start like a train to get early momentum and without europe really focus on the league, think that if the start is not very good it will be a dissappointing season again.

But if early momentum is achieved it could snowball into a special season.

Fair enough righteous, just out of interest....who are these fantastic players that spurs and arsenal have and we dont?

You call me deluded, yet for every wilshere and carzola we have an equivalent who is just as good.

----

It's the same as always GB, over egging our own players and underestimating the others.

Neither Arsenal nor Spurs are amazing teams, but they are better than us.

They have proved it the last 3 or 4 seasons, and we haven't strengthened enough so far to close that gap.

Of the three Spurs have bought the best players (although not necessarily in the positions they need, they need better defenders but seem to want to have 100 midfielders instead).

Did last season teach you nothing? Even in March you were still going on about how Spurs were rubbish and we would catch them.

You just can't seem to accept that Spurs have a good squad. It's like a mental block.

Arsenal have finished above us for 4 straight seasons, yet you claim we have players as good as theirs. We don't, that's why they finish above us.

I can already see you are going to spouting the same drivel all season as you were last, and when we are 10 points behind in March you will still be spouting the same drivel about how they are not that good and we can catch them if we just win our last 10 games.

The point I'm making Don is that whilst your signings do look good none of them have ever played in the prem, they'll take time to settle.

Soldado scored 24 league goals last season in a top team.

Aspas scored 14 league goal in a team struggling at the bottom and he played from the left at times.

For me Tottenham have only over filled in positions that they where already very good in, yes you got Soldado and I do think he'll be good but he'll take time to settle!

Righteous, absolute spot on

Got_better, this is the reason you get so much stick mate. You never learn from your lesson. Every season you come out with the same thing. Just go with the flow and see how the season pans out instead of consistently trying to drum into everyone about how you have improved and will break the top 4. Most Liverpool fans are pretty realistic and believe you have certainly improved but are still a little way off finishing top 4, Shame your in the minority. It's also the fact that you play down other teams whilst making out Liverpool awe better that makes people get annoyed at you aswell.

Coutinho, I fully agree re: Enrique but totally disagree with your views on Allen. While Jose seems to have regressed, esp on the Far East Tour, he has been one of our poorest players, Joe has ran his buns off for the team, he is as different as chalk is to cheese when compared to last season. This season I expect far greater things from him and I hope he will deliver.

we really have to spend in the next few weeks. our main rivals spurs have added £50m worth of talent to their squad this summer without losing anybody. we haven't invested any money other than the money from sales so far and we've got some big earners off the books. now is the time to invest

1. spurs... in case nobodys looked spurs have done amazingly well by selling to buy they've spend a huge amount and NEED to sell bale and real know it. you are looking a the spurs for 4th already ut not much more coming in.

2. LFC have loads and loads of room for quality but are selling to buy and frankly rodgers said the same on aug 31 last year. There are no sure things and unfortunately we are getting turned down left and right

3. LFC have a hit lis tof players to sell. downing is just the next one on it if you are >50k per week you are on the list so watch this space. skertl, henderson, jonhson and even agger are at risk. its all about having a buyer.

I've got to agree with other sentiments on here.

Considering that we have sold players and not brought anyone in of real note I'm a little worried that we'll finish nearer Everton.

Spurs have Lloris who is a fantastic keeper. Vertongen is a very good CB. Dembele, Sandro and Paulinho although lacking a bit of goalscoring tekkers are all strong, mobile and made for the Premier league. Dembele would get in any side in this league.

Throw in Bale and Soldado and they're looking strong. Lennon is capable as is Chadli. Their system means they won't keep very many clean sheets IMO and their full backs are pash.

Arsenal have loads of eperience through the team. In Wilshere and Cazorla they have, in my opinion, two of the best technical midfielders in the league.

Walcott got 14 goals and 10 assists. Podolski has been round the block and the defence, although not individually blessed with talent, work well in partnerships. Their weak point was a DM and they're geting Gustavo and if they get a striker of the quality of Suarez they'll be miles away from us. I suspect Giroud will have a better season anyway.

Ibe, Aspas, Alberto and Sterling have acheived precisely nothing so far and they're is no way they will perform above the level of the players listed for other teams above.

We may lose Agger. We may not have Suarez.

This LFC team is very short on genuine proven talent and has little experience. I don't think we'll see us sign two big players as mentioned either.

I've heard from a very reliable sauce that FSG have released the funds for Rodgers to make a marquee signing:
