We all know that United don't want to strength a rival and would rather sell him to a club abroad. However, they also know that there haven't been too many potential suitors for him.
Would it be fair to say that United are maybe just waiting until after our game with them to change their tactics? It'd be madness for Moyes to sell Rooney to us, when the transfer is still open, and see him potentially scoring the winning goal.
If Rooney was going to be fired up for one game then it'd definitely be the United games.
Still don't want him. Hope Moyes stands firm and ends up with an unhappy squad member on his hands, with any luck his negative vibes would spread throughout the squad and derail their campaign.
Rooney signing after 26th August

Why would he lose Money if he doesnt move then he wont lose his loyalty bonus. But his resale value will plummet because everyone will know his position so if not 30-35 million this year then hell be bought for less than 25 next year.

People thought Teves would cause City problems but in actual fact, he helped them win the league.
-------------------------
They exiled him from the squad at the most crucial time, which helped the squad kick on and brought him back in after the storm had ended and they were struggling. Say what you like about him but I thought it was excellent man management from Mancini. We'll have to see how Moyes deal with this.

We simply can't afford to sell him to you. No matter how much he may or may not want it. Why can't you lot accept that?
If we had landed Cesc or managed to get Ronaldo back, then fine.....we'd be in a far better position to sell him to a serious title rival. But we didn't and we won't.
Fellaini IN and Rooney out to Chelsea won't cut the mustard at our club with our fans. Moyes won't be able to ever live that down.
So unless Cesc makes a dramatic U-turn or we get a Ronaldo or Bale type signing.......Wayne Rooney will NOT be sold to Chelsea. Not a prayer.

Pot kettle black.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you need to read my reponse again and also look up the definition of the phrase Pot Kettle Black too.
I said we could Sell him to Chelsea but only on our terms. Basically meaning as long as we had replaced him with an equally good player if not better and got a decent amount for him as well.
We aren't looking good on the replacement front which is why he simply has to stay.
If Ronaldo signed for us tomorrow, I'd personally packs his bags for him and drive him down to London myself. Sadly that won't be happening.
Sulky chops is guna have to bite the bullet and roll up his sleeves for us this season. We can't afford to lose him this summer with the way the transfers have panned out.

Pressed delete by mistake, let me try that again.
"I think you miss interpreted my comment Stretford. I was merely commenting on the fact that you continued to bid for Fabregas even though he wasn't interested and Barcelona said he wasn't for sale. All in, it was a poor attempt to unsettle a player.
You have said in your first comment that we should stop bidding.
I understand what you're saying about letting him go if another player comes in. But I just can't see Rooney playing for you guys if he is still there come the end of the transfer window.
Thanks for the balanced post though, normally when you write about another team you get someone jumping down your throat, which is half the reason these boards have declined so suddenly."

To be fair, i won't hold anything against Moyes over the Rooney Situ.
This started waaay before he arrived.
So he's walked into a cluster f$!k.
Sure we don't wanna sell to Chelsea, but if a player wants to go, then let him go.
UTD will be fine with or without him.
