Morning Ladies & Gents
Last night David Ornstein spouted some leaked quotes from Arsenal on Radio 5 Live.
It appears the club have realised what most of us did some weeks ago. We haven’t signed anyone who can improve the team immediately.
The plugging in and turning on of the PR machine tells us they probably don’t think they will either.
Don’t worry though because it’s the markets fault.
Remember when we couldn’t do business in May and June because there were no managers in place.
In July we couldn’t sign anyone because everyone in football was away on holiday.
Now, we’re getting screwed by the market. Would you believe it? We are so unlucky, poor Arsenal.
Some people would say crazy things like, don’t wait for the market, be proactive, be flexible, be aggressive and get the players you’ve identified.
Why are we waiting for the market to tell us what to do?
One thing that has been made suggested by the vast majority of journalists etc including Ornstein on the Monday Night Club is that Wenger refuses to go above his valuation. This seems outrageously naïve from such an experienced manager.
Surely it’s clear that to get the players you want at the very “top level" you are often going to have to pay more than you want?
Surely at a time when there is more uncertainty in the upper echelons of the division is the time to utilize these funds, make a real push to win it or at least improve?
Like it or not but Spurs have, they’ve been aggressive, they’ve brought in two immediate starters.
Was all Ivan’s talk about spending big and the money we have to put pressure on Wenger? To force his hand to spend the money that is undeniably at his disposal.
I’m sure most of you remember when Wenger was asked what he’d do with £100m, he replied “I’d give it back".
Well, he wasn’t lying, he is trying….
What is more important right now, being right or winning?
I’m losing my f-ing mind.

No, I can't. It's far too sensible to go for them.
We're screwed, we really are.
At least our starting XI is pretty good. Sagna, Ramsey and Koscielny are looking top class.

For the record Suarez will not sign a new deal with Liverpool unless there's a release clause that will become active next summer. That's the only way I could see him doing it.

They certainly are.
Heaven forbid one of them picks up a knock.....
Oh, they have already? Oh right....

We never know, we might luck out and have an injury free season. Maybe Wenger replaced their bones with adamantium, who knows?

Are you kiddling me? Do you know how much that stuff costs?
He's just going to wrap their legs in silver foil.

The first team is 4th at best regardless of injuries

I don't know. If Ramsey plays like Cesc, Wilshere like Wilshere 09/10, Giroud translates his preseason form and continues to improve, Szczesny grows into a top class keeper and Walcott finally finds consistency, we might get third.

I hope we sign nobody. Wenger has been exposed as the lying fraud that he is. Let him continue to make a fool of himself, only when we finish behind Spurs will the AKBs realise he needs to fk off.
His excuses are fking baffling, he said at the start of the Summer 'the market is slow' then 2 weeks ago said it moved too fast? What the fk is wrong with the ? He is a fking liar and never intended to spend. Get him out.

does anyone remember when arsene & the board didnt want to spend big in the early part of the 2000's cause they thought transfer fees would be eliminated & players could buy their contracts out & move clubs, that was the reason we didnt sign trezeguet.
