Sad scribe pops question to Nige

It appears that a particularly demented, hairbrained journalist who seemed to be under the impression that he was talking to Brian Kerr or Jose Mourinho recently asked our Nige if he had decided to sign a new contract yet?

Even Nige the Unworthy, not the most emotionally expressive of individuals, managed to look suitably embarassed by the enquiry. Those present who were unaware of how terminally dull the said scribe is, thought he might have been slyly trying to take the pxss out of poor Nige. Others thinking that the scribe was up to his old habit of overindulging in the low social club priced beverages available, assumed he was simply drunk. Imagine the horror when it gradually became clear that the delusional journalist was actually being completely serious!

Some thought he must be on one of those much heralded day release "re acquaint with society" programmes run by certain local institutions. However, tipped off by the way he was pronouncing his "H"s, I spotted immediately that he was one of those fanatical Nordie based, NI hating, ROI supporters who would like nothing more than to saddle us with another few years of back pedalling Nigelicity with all its attendant "positive points"!

DONT PEOPLE REALISE, NIGEL HAS GOT TO GO, NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Serious question ! If say NIreland manage to get it together against the Faroes this week and hammer them 5 or 6-0 will all be forgiven with Nigel.

You lads seem to be in the same situation as the ROI were during the latter days of Stauntons reign.

I was at Stauntons second last game in charge . V Germany at Croke park. Robbie Keane was one on one with German goalie Lehman If he scored we would have gone 1-0 up and possibly have won the match as the ROI were actually the better side on the night.

. It looked easier to score but Robbie just tamely lobbed the ball into his hands instead of shooting low and hard into the corner.

I immediately roared abuse at Keane. This old lad beside me in the stand said he was glad Keane hadn't scored . "If we beat the Germans the FAI will probably give Staunton a new contract"!!!!!!

And you know what he was probably right!!!

You think the IFA are going to pay out the remainder of his contract? Sure this campaign is all but finished anyway, and then he's gone. No point wasting money when Linfield have a league title bid that needs financing.

Of course a failure to win on Wednesday night and they'd have no choice........

ROGER:
If we tank them, then it may secure NW a reprieve for the next match, however I doubt if he would be able to maintain the winning streak. In which case I think he should go!

Unfortunately, this time I think CPs right. Theres no way the IFA is going to pay out his contract and I doubt if he will resign, so looks like we could be stuck with him for a while.

NW doesnt seem to know how to win matches. He appears to approach every game as a session of "Attacky and Defendy" with us being the perpetual defenders! The fact that we have a surfiet of big central defenders at the moment, unfortunately, gives him plenty of defensive options to play around with.

I almost, but not quite, share the same attitude as that old lad sitting beside you in the stand that day when Robbie, unusually didnt score!

Go luck in the ROI's next game. I have always found genuine ROI fans in the Republic to be a friendly decent lot, not at all like the embittered versions who live up here.
