He's probably just as stupid though. The difference there is that they don't care about how much they spend. They went out and paid loads for falcao etc. we could have done the same if we are willing to pay 55m for Suarez, for example, but we're not.

Yeah we should bid for him as he's quality. But we won't, and if we did we wouldn't do it properly anyway. Say if he was available for 40m we'd bid 30, then dither for ages and Real Madrid will come in a get him for 40m.
The club just seem obsessed with only buying players on their own terms. Don't seem to account that if you want a quality player, who their parent club don't want to sell, you have to pay over the odds to get him.

This is the crux. I trust Wenger more than I do Gazdis and the board. I don't think he can make a suitable appointment, nor can they spend money properly. Or they wold be doing it now.
