He seems like he has the technical quality but do you guys feel he is ready for the premier league ? He was barely a starter for you guys so I doubt he'd get anywhere near our first 11 without getting a run of games in the carling cup first.

He's very quick, got a great final ball and first touch, and he's a very intelligent footballer.
However, I feel a year playing first team Championship football would have done him the world of good and he's foolish to leave (influenced by his dad I must add).
Having said that, I think all parties are happy with this deal; Chamberlain gets the move he wants, Arsenal get the player they want, and Saints get £12m + £3m in add ons plus a 40% sell on fee, which is a LOT of money.

In answer to your question, I don't think he's quite ready for the Premier League, but he certainly will be in a year or two (I think he'd have been ready next year with a year of Championship football under his belt IMO).

So from his career development point of view we should have loaned him back to u guys to toughen him up in that rough league, the saints obviously need him and we have enough wingers already.

Seemed like a great player but again as with Theo it will take years for him to be ready in the first team.
Walcott scored 4 league goals in a season, Chamberlain 9 but of course we were in League One and it was a promotion season.
It's still an awful lot of money.

I wouldn't say we need him at all as we still have our best player in Lallana and De Ridder, who I believe is a better player than Chambo at the moment anyway... Basically, he should have stayed for another year to develop and Arsenal would have signed a more accomplished player IMO.
