Just wanted to make a few points. I think Everton have every right to reject bids for their players but I don't think the 28m bid is derisory. It might be a little lower than it should be but not derisory. In a world where clubs are making ridiculously high bids, Moyes has done the right thing by offering a respectable amount. A players value should not be in comparison to another players'. So just because Carroll cost pool 35m, doesn't mean Grant Holt should be 20m, etc. Baines is very good but is almost 29 and 12m is his value. The bid for Fellaini is low but only by a few million. I don't understand the timing of this double bid. When Fellaini's clause was still active, a double bid of around 35m should have been enough.
Moving on to young Jackie Wilshere. I've always maintained that he is overrated but I have never doubted his potential. However I believe he may end of wasting his potential at Arsenal. Look at the step of Rvp has made by moving to a club that challenges every year. If Utd were to sign him for about 15m, It will not only strengthen Utd's midfield but will also be good for England but most importantly, for young Jacqueline Wilshere. I think he'll give it one year but I really hope this move happens.

Eff off!

I understand as an arsenal fan you wouldn't want to lose a future star but if Arsenal don't step up, then wilshere might have to step away for his career. Think of it from a neutral view

I'm not on the wum. 15-20m is Wilshere's value. He has a lot of potential but he hasn't done enough to warrant anything higher. One day he may become a 40m player but as of right now, he isn't

Platini, not saying he is worth £40m at the mo... Mainly because of the injuries, but £15 to £20m is laughable.
I knows it's a matter of opinion, but that's just stupid!!!

Fellaini worth more than wilshere

Rooney

what in your opinion makes him worth 40m? The only thing that I can say is that he has potential to be worth that much. Is he currently a world class attack mid? Or a world class defensive mid? Is he a player like Gerrard has been for Liverpool, constantly dragging an average side? World class players should be going for that much

Just to get this correct the bid for fellaini is 1.5m less than what we paid for him as a 19 year old with unknown. £23.5 is more than reasonable but we actually value him more than the buy out.

Fellaini worth more than wilshere

The reason I said that Fellaini is worth more than 16m is because Everton paid more than that to sign him a few seasons ago and he appears to be a better player now.

We got RVP for that price because of his contract situation. Hasn't Jack just signed a new contract?
Maybe, in a year or two...

Wilshere needs to prove that he is back to his best and can stay injury free - then a top price valuation is more realistic.
It is easy to forget that many other factors affect a player's value, not just his actual ability. How desperate are the buying club (always adds a few million), how keen are the current club to sell (will add or subtract a few million depending on that particular club's point of view), length of contract left, current form of the player, is the player unsettled etc.
Once Fellaini knows that Utd want him, he will want to go, but in terms of fee, the cards are stacked in Everton's favour. Sometimes you need to pay more than is comfortable to secure a player, and if no other midfielders come in, that is the position we are in. We would like to pay 20-25 million, but it may go nearer to 30. We probably paid a few million more than we would have liked for Carrick, but I don't doubt that Fellaini would improve our midfield, and therefore we may just have to pay that little bit extra.

There's no chance of you getting Fellaini for £1 million more than Everton paid and having seasoned him as a very effective player in the premier league. Offering £12 for one of the best LB's in the league when that offer has already been rejected was only going to antagonise Everton. I'd say you were at least £9 to £11 million short on your combined offer to get these players.
