Well, MC is our new manager. Appointed evidently to ensure "continuity" at the club, and I guess, being the cheapest option.
How the words "seamless" & "continuity" can be applied, I don't understand. He has only been there since March. Since then Old MacDonald went back to his farm & we had weeks without football. When that regime took over we were top of the league. Now we are 17th! If that is the sort of continuity Jed wants, well.......!
Back to the continuity. If they wanted that, why get rid of the best players & bring in total novices at this level? The side is totally different to that of last season.
Sometimes, things need a seam in them to hold them together.
I reckon MC will get an OBE for this - out before easter!
Seamless?

I see Benson's on his way to Luton...good luck to him, he did well for us. Does this mean some more freeing up of wages and some new faces (preferably to beef up our strike force)? We certainly need more of a goal threat than we have currently.
I'm ok about Cooper getting the job, I think he deserves the opportunity. Whether he'll still be here next Easter I don't know, but I think that he will as expectations are modest.
On another note Gary Roberts is doing the business for Chesterfield, shows what a change of club can do. And Leon Clarke continues to score for fun at Coventry.
And on another note Saturday 24th August is exactly 50 years to the day since our first ever game in then then Division 2. It would be nice to celebrate that with a win but I'm not sure that the Gills will oblige.

Williams gone then. I always though he was decent and did a lot of work for the team but his scoring record wasn't good enough. I don't see anyone coming in before tomorrow's game so we're really going to struggle to score.

I don't see any hope. What is Cooper paid for? No sane man would have got rid of a front man when we don't have a replacement. My guess is that he is just a puppet for the board.

Hello Chaps.
I also value continuity very highly, and we don't seem to be getting much! However, it is difficult for us to judge the financial situation facing the new owners . All would probably agree that some cost-cutting is necessary, but has it gone too far? Hard to say.... I wasn't a big fan of the Cooper appointment either Red, but hey, he's there now, so good luck to him.
Nonetheless, we've just wupped Crewe 5-0, so there's a reason to be cheerful! Here are some more:
1. In Cooper's post-match interviews he makes constructive remarks, and doesn't belittle the players. I like that. Are you watching Paolo?
2. Before the season started, I was fearful of relegation. It's still early days, but I think we're better than that.
3. We've had a good win in the League Cup, and we've got Chelsea next! Mourinho makes my skin crawl, and while we may have just a 5% chance of winning, I'd love it if we beat 'em - love it!!

George, A week ago I was lamenting 2 dire performances, fearing for the worst. 7 days has changed that. Much as I would like us to beat Chelsea, I would swap that for a result against the titties.

Agreed!
In fact there are a number of teams coming up that I have no love for - MK Dons / Wolves / City. Tough matches. Will be interesting to see how we do.
And we've just spent £400k on Luongo....that's a pretty penny for League 1. I just can't puzzle out the finances. Beats me.

What a difference a week makes!
Looks like some more signings today, the squad is getting much stronger. We've got a hard month in store but we're going into it on a high.

....and we've finally released Caddis from purgatory, thankfully. A quality professional who was treated very badly IMO. Good luck to him.
