Fridgeboy
He denied that they have signed with us. He confirmed there have been talks
Jeezus, Willian and Coentrao will do nicely for Bale!
If Lamela comes as well, i'd be absolutely amazed ...

Lamela is classic Levy bait. He will not resist an opportunity to sign him.

Exactly. It's about getting the right players in. Personally i'm not sure how you fit Paulinho, Sandro and Capoue in the same side. Chadli i'm not convinced is the kind of quality we needed. The problem is everyone seems to think we're signing Willian and Lamela but in all seriousness who comes out to accomodate them? Bale obviously, maybe Siggy? I really doubt we are signing all 3, although i'd love it if we were. The poster above it right. We need creativity and one new creative isn't going to be enough.
This is the only way it can work...
----------------------Lloris
Walker------Kaboul----Vert------Contreao
------------Paulinho--------Sandro
---------------------Dembele
---------Willian-------------------Lamela
---------------------Soldado
No room for Lennon, Chadli, Capoue amongst others. There's no way we would have bought these players to sit on the bench. I believe Willian will sign, no chance with Lamela.

fridgeboy, all I will say is -strength in depth.
Something we've needed for a long time, and appear to be working towards.
Think about the Man U's, Citys, Chelseas etc.....they all have incredible players who don't play every match. If we want to compete we need to be in that position.
Hernanez at Utd would get in most teams first 11, but for them, he's not much more than a supersub! That's the level we need to aim for.

Unfortunatly due to the severity of Sandro's injury added to the questions marks over Dembele's recovery last season then signing replacements must have been deemed vital by the management and tells its own story really.
One of the lessons learnt from last season is that we did not have enough strength in depth when it mattered. Our summer signings have gone a long way in hopefully preventing the same scenario from occuring again.

The Sandro/Dembele problems are why Paulinho makes perfect sense.
