A sad, sad day for Scottish football

Thanks Kenny. You might have been pash for ages but at least you ragdolled the English defence in your last ever game for your country.

I think he's still wandering about Wembley Way wondering what happened.

It's official

Under rated player imo

Might not score a lot but he drags defenders all over the place and creates gaps and space. I dont think many players would say he was easy to mark

I thought there was a period (around about the time he scored the header against Italy) where he was really, really good for Scotland. To the extent where I remember a lot of the Italian guys commenting on how hard he was to play against and how he'd do well in Italy etc etc.

Sadly he probably played on for a little too long but then wouldn't we all if we were in his shoes?

Thankfully the last memory of him will be that goal against the English and I'm glad of that.

He's done well for himself, hopefully in 10 years time we are sad a player retiring for ability rather than commitment though

Fair play to Kenny for the tremendous effort he's put in. He's done a great deal for the national side in an era where we don't have many (or any!) superstars. It's up to the younger players to do the business now.

Guy got a lot of stick, most of it unfair.

Good player and won't be as easy to replace as most seem to think

I am so glad Kenny is getting to retire on a high

The guy never deserved half the stick he got from some, was way OTT

Equal 6th most capped player in our history with Davie Weir

6th top goalscorer in our history, only 1 goal fewer than tally one of the best natural goalscorers this country ever produced amassed in approx. as many games......McCoist.

Nicknamed Kenny Misser coz he had a goal scoring ratio of 1 every 3.8 games
Dalglish, the country's top goalscorer, had a goalscoring ratio if 1 every 3.4 games, hardly night and day.

Scored in some big games, and against big teams like Italy, Germany, Croatia and England

We never lost a competitive game that he scored in, we only lost two friendlies, one against Switzerland in 2006, the other the England game last week.

Despite the criticism he got, 5 Scotland manager's seen him as their first choice striker which says a helluva lot about the man, and even Gordon Strachan picked him for his biggest game to date, the England game

Scotland legend

Thank You
