The Posh V The Royals (League Cup)

Peterborough play Reading in what could turn out to be confirmation that we are a good enough team to return to and cement a place in the Championship.

Additionally, I'm hoping to drag by soon-to-turn 13 year-old son from his X-box, to witness what I hope will be an entertaining Cup match.

If we are in fact as good a team as we appear to be, we should win this one and then hopefully land a Premiership team at home in the next round.

C'mon the Posh, and Tomlin, who I'm sure will be out to impress some scouts.

Oh well, Sunderland away in the end. Still, a beatable team, and it would be nice to get one over Di Canio.

Champers, you have Hull (and George Boyd) in the next round. Beatable?

Nah, I don't reckon so. It's cup football so anything can happen but seeing as our old nemesis Boyd will likely be playing I expect defeat.

He must be due a bad game against us sometime though!

Hull will rest players, plus a low crowd at the KC, I expect a Huddersfield win.

Good odds on it I reckon Kenny

And I can see Leeds beating the Toons.

I've a sneaky feeling about that one too Thorney. It might go the distance in terms of spot kicks but Leeds will give them a real match. I can see Newcastle going into serious pantomime mode this season. They're a car crash right now.

I'm assuming due to cup rules Leeds will have in excess of 5-6,000 fans up there that night? The noise levels will be insane and a real boost for the travelling team.

Whaddaya say Kenny...cheeky fiver on the West Yorkshire cup double? We'd have enough for an Indian summer in Skeggy. Could even go to London Road en route. They'll be scoring double figures by then

Yeah due to the teams Newcastle have fielded in cup competitions recently (remember Brighton in the FA Cup last season), there's a good chance of an upset. Don't like betting on my own team, so may back the other team from the North-East to lose, Posh won't fold like MK that's for sure!
