Okay Lads I Will Observe From Now

CL qualification was the last delay excuse Wenger could use, so now is time to get dialling! All I've wanted this window was quality additions to the squad and I will certainly praise Wenger if he makes that happen. I agree with Wenger's persistance on 'quality over quantity' but what annoys me is this statement not being backed.

I suppose a lot could happen I would be extremely satisfied with at least 1 world class player out of 3 brought to the club. I think we need a ST, LW, DM, a goalkeeper would be nice because Fabianski is injury-prone and giving Shezza the comfort of a guaranteed start every game proves costly. If all those roles can be fulfilled with quality I will be very pleased and will praise Wenger for it. I won't regret my criticisms for him though because it would have been more beneficial to have swooped up early and gained a solid start to the season but we've lost 3 points already and Wenger's lack of preperation caused that.

I'll take Flamini but he must not be 1 of those 3 (maybe 4) signings I declared earlier!

6 days come on Arsenal let's finally begin this new era..... please.

Bats are you really suggesting that Arsene is trying to make a point by playing Sanogo?

Very flimsy stuff.

I would say if he didn't care, he wouldn't acknowledge it. As we know, he very often finds a way of side stepping questions so to even discuss his doubters, never mind 'hit back' at them shows me he is clearly bothered by their opinions.

Of course he gets wound up sometimes, no debating that.

My point was that he will do what he thinks is right i.e. play Sanogo ahead of Akpom, for the right reasons only. Don't think he would ever really let something like what the press think or write about him, influence that decision.

Yes Jenius. That is my opinion. From pre season alone, Akpom is far more worthy of a spot on the bench. So for Sanogo to get a look in ahead of him says to me Wenger is trying to vindicate his decision to only sign him so far this Summer.

So he's just desperately trying to play someone he signed for free to prove himself right, rather than simply blooding a new player?
Right.

Akpom is a different type player. He had a great pre-season but he plays like Giroud rather than someone who can diffuse the game situation by holding onto the ball. Sanogo holds the ball better. Thats why I compared his style to Kanu.

But its an irrelevancy because neither are ready. So its hardly a point to anyone. In fact its a sign of weakness to show that you have to rely on Sanogo to backup a player who is no more than a backup himself. The more he exposes Sanogo the bigger chance he has to fail.

Remember what Sven did to Theo by picking him when he wasn't ready? Theo created so many haters at national level and even at Arsenal that he still hasn't lived it down. Throwing kids in at the deep end is a sign of weakness in the squad not strength.

Wenger doesn't have much time left now anyway.

If he can bring in the players in the next few days then he will have us all backing him.

If not, our biggest signing next summer will have to be a new manager

Blooding a new player?

Then why is he not playing Akpom who had a fantastic pre season and looks a better prospect?

posted on 28/8/13

Because Akpom is younger, and is already familiar with the club and the squad. He gets plenty of game time with the youth teams.

Akpom looks terrible. Struggles controlling the ball ffs.
