Delph and gabby should be in the squad ahead of sterling and barkley. Roy picking players on name and not form.

Delph still has work to do. He gets on the ball yes but still a lot to learn in that position.
He seems to go one way then another, turns back which kind of looks effective but really isn't, he's just holding the ball and actually slowing the play down. He plays with his head down still rather than seeing the situations quickly.
Against us he was busy on the ball but no real impact / end product.
It is catastrophic for English Football that some of these players are in the squad for a WC qualifier. A friendly game you might say, OK bring a couple in. But players like Townsend who has started what one game for Spurs is nonsense and devalues international football.
Fall over, get a soft penalty and get into the England squad...great message about standards there Roy

Who actually thinks either Townsend or Barkley will get a spot even on the bench...It's just for the experience.
As for Townsend falling over easily and earning a pen.........Sure no Liverpool/Everton/Arsenal or United player has taken an easy tumble

Delph hasn't just played well this season, but like the team started to play well end of Feb last year.
I don't want them near the England squad. We want the players to stay as part of the tight knit squad Lambert has created.
No big time Charlie's !

Young is the player most undeserving of his place. Agbonlahor should be replacing him more than anyone else. I agree Sterling shouldn't be in the squad either, but Barkley is a refreshing inclusion.

Defoe...what a waste. He's happy not to play football. Great example for the England squad.
What is it,, does he brew a nice cup of tea? Lead the sing song on the bus?

They probably won't. But I would still have somebody like Barkley in the squad. He's a youngster, they are the future and I firmly believe they are good enough. But what I don't like is experienced players being picked when they have done fack all recently.

They have been injured on and off for years. The arsenal cripple pitch is where England train.
